Song of the chapter: Riot by Three Days Grace

Connor's POV

"So get uuuuup! Let's start a riot! A riot! Let's start a riot. .... Let's start a riot! A riot! Let's start a riot...." I was singing in the shower at four in the morning.

When I hopped out, I straightened my black fringe, and threw on some black skinny jeans, and my favorite long sleeved striped black and white shirt.

I put in my black diamond earrings and my converse. I grabbed my phone and stuffed it in my white backpack. "I don't know where you're going but do you got room for one more, troubled soul?" I sang along to my music that was on full blast. When I was ready, I ran around the hall and down the stairs.

My mom looked up from the book she was reading. "Hey, you're up late." She told me. I glanced at the time.

4:50 AM. Yikes. I'm usually out of the  house by four fifty.

Oh well, I'm hungry. As if she read my mind, my mom said, "There's Bacon in the microwave." I smiled at her and grabbed the plate of Bacon. "Which necklace and earrings today?" She looked up.

"Today, I am wearing the black diamond earrings, and the peace sign necklace you got me for my birthday last year." My mom smiled at me. I was about to walk out the door when my mom asked me, "Do you have your keys? Your book report? Your headphones and phone charger?"

I checked my bag. "Yeah, but I left my keys in my room." I set down the now empty plate and my backpack and ran upstairs to grab my keys. When I got back downstairs, I added my plate to the dishwasher, grabbed my gum off the table, and my lunch and Sprite out of the fridge. The last thing I grabbed before I kissed my mom.

"Bye mom, love you." I said. "Love you too, sweetheart." She replied as I closed the door. I checked the time. 5:10 AM. Wow.

I put my house keys in my bag and took my skateboard out. I rode my skateboard all the way to school. No time to stop by my treehouse before school. I'll just go after, like always.

Finally, I arrive at school. I pick up my skateboard and put it in my locker. 5:45 AM. I still have thirty minutes until athletics. I took my skateboard back out of my locker and just cruised around the halls, music blasting through my headphones. "I look inside of myself, and try to find someone else..." I sing to myself as I ride around the halls.

Nick's POV

I woke up at around.... 7 AM..... yesterday. I couldn't sleep! I was up all night finishing the book report that is due today.

I had a week, but I am a professional procrastinator. I also had to repaint my nails. They're dark blue. As I'm putting on my light gray v-neck, I hear my mom calling for me from downstairs.

"Yeah, mom?" She peeks her head outside the kitchen. "Do you  want eggs too? Or just Bacon?" I smiled at her. "Eggs please." She nodded and went back to cooking.

I ran back upstairs to grab my bag and slipped on some shoes. I grabbed my headphones and my phone and put then in my backpack. I was fixing my hair and carrying my bag while walking downstairs.

I stepped over the last step and thought I died.

I'm alive though.

I walked into the kitchen, sat down, and ate my breakfast. "Thank you." I said to my mom when I was done. I put my plate in the sink. I grabbed my bag, told my mom bye and headed to school.

~10 minutes later~

I'm late. I'm very very late. I am SO late.

As I'm running down the halls, desperately trying to get to class, my brown hair flops in front of my face and I trip as I round the corner. I move my hair out of my face.

"Ouch." I stood up, and looked for my bag. I looked all around me, but couldn't find it. I turn around once more, and saw a boy skateboarding down the hall...... towards me.

I ignore him and spin around in circles, trying to spot my bag. I hear music all of the sudden. I turn around and the boy I saw skateboarding was standing right in front of me.

I looked at his headphone he was holding once I realized that that's where the music was coming from. He held up one finger, signalling for me to wait. He paused his music and said, "What're you looking for?"

I stared back at him. "My bag." I replied as if it was obvious. He slid back on just skateboard a little and stared around the corner. He looked back at me.

"Is your bag white?" I nodded. He pointed down the hall. I stepped over to see, and sure enough, it was there. I probably dropped it while running.

I went and grabbed it, and turned around to thank him, but when I turned around, He had already left.
