Song of the chapter- Alone Together by Fall Out Boy
Connor's POV
I stuffed my bag in my locker before I started heading to lunch. I had to put my skateboard in there too, so nobody broke this one.
Lunch here is never very promising, and sometimes I would bet my skateboard that it's alive. Walking down the hall is never very fun, but since I keep to myself, nobody picks on me... sometimes. I walk into the cafeteria, pay for milk and a cookie, and walk back out.
Normally, people would go in and socialize with their friends. Seeing as I don't have any, well then I see no point in going in there.
I'm not normally the most social person, either. I drink my milk and eat my cookie as I'm walking to the old playground. The kids come out here before we go to lunch and leave when we get there, so the playground is empty other than me.
I walk straight to the the swings at the back. On the way there, I pick up my hidden notebook, and pull my pencil out of my back pocket. Sitting down, I open my notebook to the most recent sketch. I smile and put in my headphones, blaring my music, and continue drawing.
I'm humming along to She Will Be Loved by Maroon 5. When I'm finally done, I smile down at my picture. It's the same as all the others, an angel of some sort, but this one is different.
This angel, is in shackles. She's held captive, and she's surrounded by skulls. Weird thing to draw but whatever. Suddenly I get a text. This is unusual.

~Hey, Con! This your new phone? xx c:
I smile. I'm about to reply, when I get another text.
~FROM: UNKNOWN
~This is Emalie, btw.
I add her to my contacts, then reply.
~TO: EMMIE
~Hey Emmie. Yeah, this is my new phone. I just finished the new drawing!
~FROM: EMMIE
~rlly? I wanna seeeeeeee!!!!! And don't call me Emmie!

I shut off my phone when I see the time. I grab my notebook and hide it. Emalie always asks me why I hide it, but I really don't know. I guess I just don't want people to see what I've drawn.
Running into class, I see that I'm late. Everyone's staring at me, so I bow my head, my shoes becoming interesting.
"Mr. Evans. You're late." My teacher, Mrs. Tanner, said to me. I nodded on response. "Well, then just take a seat in the back by Mr. Peters." I only nod again and shuffle to the back of the classroom.
I sit down and realize I don't have my bag with me. Sighing, I look up at the front of the classroom, and internally cheer when I remember we're reading our book reports.
Nick's POV
Whreisitwheteisitwhereisit WHERE THE HELL IS MY BOOK REPORT?! Oh. My. YouTube. I LEFT MY BOOK REPORT AT MY HOUSE. Oh my gosh. I'm dead. I am so dead.
Might as well start writing my will now. I shall leave my money to my mom, my cell phone to Lily, my backpack to that boy who found it earlier, my hair straighteners to-
"Mr. Evans. You're late." My head shot up. It was the boy from earlier. Oh my gosh. He probably thinks I'm a complete moron. I sit my head in my hands so he can't see my face.
"Well, then just take a seat in the back by Mr. Peters." I wanted to go home to my bedroom and never leave. This is not happening.
