I blinked my eyes a couple times, trying to get everything into focus. The area around us couldn't exactly be called a city, but it certainly had been crafted by humans. There was a road lying flat underneath us, going throughout the city like how a normal road map would be in a normal city, except for the Incan-looking buildings and the random plant growth along the sides of the road. I Not just my hands, but my legs, my torso, arms, and even my forehead were tied tightly to something that almost seemed like a sacrificial ceremonial pole that hadn't been used recently. What were they going to do, burn me? If I was being completely honest, that didn't seem like a too far-off option at this point. I wriggled slightly, hoping to at least slip on of the ropes off, but they held tight. I grimaced slightly.
"Nice to see you awake," Somebody said from beside me. It would've made me jump, but I could hardly move.
"Nice to see you not dead yet," I replied heartily, "Where exactly are we?"
Pietro laughed, but he didn't sound optimistic. "Strapped to a pole, completely discovered, somewhere in Wakanda."
"Coulda picked that one up myself," I replied, once again trying to release myself from the ropes. "Have you seen anyone?"
"I was out for a while too. I have no idea what's going on. I woke up an hour or so ago, and I don't know how long I was out. Could've been days, could've been minutes." It was weird talking to someone and not being able to turn your head. I felt restricted and anxious.
"Any weapons?" I asked, once again feeling deprived. There was no cool metal pressed against my thigh, no comforting gun in my holster... Hopefully, they hadn't seen the syringe.
"None," He said, "I didn't even bring weapons."
"What?" I felt offended, "Why not? What were you even planning on doing? Running away?"
"Hey, they wouldn't even see me coming. Who needs a gun when you can knock them out in under a second?" Pietro argued.
He had good logic there. "Unless they know your strategies because your enemy is your sist-" I stopped talking because, walking up the road like she owned the place, was Wanda. If I wasn't so confined, I would've shaken my head. She wasn't going to be doing that for long once I got ahold of her.
"Evgeniya!" She said sweetly in my head, scaring me. I was usually the one talking in other people's heads. Did she know that yet? Crap, I just thought that straight to her, now she definitely-
"You have telepathy also?" She thought to me smugly, "How interesting. This explains a lot. What else would you like to accidentally reveal?"
I cursed myself silently, and tried to quiet my brain. "Shut up," I repeated over and over in my brain, trying to drown out my own thoughts.
"You're... Radiating something," Wanda forced into my brain. I could tell it was an effort, by the way she spoke in my head, like she was in pain. "Glowing, in fact."
"Shut up," I repeated, going back to my emptiness. All I saw was white, all I heard was my own voice.
"You're blocking me," Her voice was fainter.
"Yeah, so why don't you shut up and get out of my head?" I said matter-of-factly, tightening my eyes and focusing on the phrase emphatically. All of the sudden, the breath was knocked out of me and my eyes flooded open as a shot of purple hit Wanda squarely in the forehead. I heard her wince noticeably as she tumbled down to her knees.
When she lifted her head, she looked angry, but she quickly pushed away the emotion, putting on a demonic looking smile that made her look positively insane. "Where are your friends?" She said, her voice strange. She sounded like a snake, and I would've shivered, but I was suddenly being violently jerked through the air.

FanfictionI'd been lying in my own blood for hours. Of course, I couldn't be sure it was mine, I was surrounded by the corpses of at least a hundred people who weren't as lucky as me. I felt anger well up in my chest as I felt my shoulder throb in pain. I did...
