Calytrix is a young witch who just turned 20. As is customary for all witches of her age, she must leave her home village and explore the world. She journeys to find her own place within it and a purpose, but magic is declining and only a few witche...
We remained standing for a long time in the darkness of the black holes, which consumed everything around.
"Akios?" I whispered.
"Calytrix," he said.
"I'm so-" I started, but he quickly hushed me.
"I won't let anything bad happen to you," he said.
"I want nothing bad to happen to you, either. I-" I started, but Akios hushed me again.
"There used to be a star here," Akios said, full of melancholy. "A bright shining star that was the only one left after everything else got consumed. I used to sit in the dark and watch it."
I looked up for a moment, and my gaze landed on Akios's eyes. I thought I saw a star in his eyes for a second. How lonely it must have felt to gaze at the single star remaining? And the despair the disappearance brought.
There surely was something I could do, but I should tread lightly not to hurt feelings.
"Do you have any regrets?" I asked him.
"Do you?" he questioned my question.
"I have no regrets right now, but I thought we should do something fun. Perhaps something you always wanted but never got the chance?" I spoke.
Akios looked me in the eye when a sharp noise layered with his words, and I couldn't understand a thing. It was inhuman, unnatural, a sound that would make my ears bleed if I listened to it for too long. The sound of black holes.
"Let's get out of here," Akios said and immediately teleported to us.
Just a moment before we moved to a different place, I grabbed a piece of black dirt and put in my bag.

We were at the top of a long staircase. The hallway was lit with bright moonlight through the large windows behind us. I recalled my first confrontation with Akios down there.
"This was the first place Andrezey teleported me," Akios said.
"We met and had a magic fight there," I said.
"I wouldn't call jumping around a fight," Akios laughed.
Leo's mansion was abandoned. There were no living or magical presences. It wasn't cold, but it felt uncomfortable.
"It feels awfully empty," I said.
"Since there is life outside, it seems good enough to me," Akios said casually, but his words pierced my heart.
He sat down on the first staircase, and I copied his movements. Wearing a boot on one leg and a sock on the other annoyed me, so I took the remaining boot off.
Akios took off his shirt. I couldn't help but look at the naked part of his upper body. It was a bit more muscular than I had thought. The moonlight looked good on him.
