"Lieutenant, your trajectory indicates you will miss the station by about ten degrees." Ryan said quickly. I could hear him tapping on a keyboard in the background.
"Copy that." I adjusted my course as smoothly as possible.I looked over at Emma to see how she was doing. She sped past me.
I quickly contacted her. "Emma if you do not slow down, you will collide with the station at a velocity that is too great. You will rebound into the black hole."
"No, I'm doing just fine." she huffed.
The station grew closer.
I looked at Emma to see her hit the station. Her body flew into it and unable to find simething to grip in time, bounced off. It was horriying to watch as her thruster wasn't strong enough to escape the pull of the black hole. I watched as her transmissions slowly came through further and further apart.
"Please Miller. Help.. Me... Please... Someb. o.. d... y... h..." her final words came to me about a minute later in the form of a scream.
The black hole crushed her.
I slowed down as I approached the station, unwilling to suffer the same fate as Emma. I came in range of my grappling hook and managed to grab onto a airlock.
The station now blocked my view of the infinite blackness of hell.
