I can hardly believe we're here right now, at the end of this journey. After nearly four years, it's surreal to think this book has come to a close. First and foremost, a massive thank you to everyone who has joined me on this adventure, especially those of you who have been here since day one, sticking with me through all the ups and downs, and enduring my early chapters with all their rough writing. I can't express my gratitude enough.
Before I wrap up Lorenzo and Luciana's story, I just wanted to take a moment to speak from the heart.
First off, yes—I know the earlier chapters need some editing. I've grown so much as a writer since I started this book, and I do plan on going back to rewrite and polish those chapters soon. Thank you for sticking through the rougher beginnings with me.
Now, I also want to address something that's been weighing on me. I've noticed a lot of slut-shaming directed at Athena, especially in the early parts of the story. While I absolutely love that this is a space where readers feel free to share their thoughts, and I'm so grateful for the conversations and engagement—slut-shaming, especially toward my female characters, is not something I will tolerate or support.
Yes, Athena slept with a few people. Five, to be exact. But let's be honest—there are countless books out there with male and female characters who've had way more partners, and I don't see the same kind of hate directed at them. She is who she is and that's her story.
Characters are meant to evolve. They're supposed to be flawed, messy, real. That's what makes them human. If every character was perfect, there'd be no story. You don't have to like every character, and that's okay. But calling a woman a "slut" or a "whore" because of her choices is not constructive criticism—it's harmful, and it needs to stop.
When I started this book, I was younger and heavily influenced by what I was reading on Wattpad. Many of the female characters I saw were written in a certain way, and I thought that's what readers wanted. I've grown since then, and so have my characters. I hope that continues to show in my writing moving forward.
If you don't like Athena, that's totally okay. But please be mindful of how we talk about female characters—and about each other. This is a community I truly care about, and I want it to be one that uplifts, not tears down.
On a different note, for those of you reading Twisted Devotion—yes, Federico's story is continuing soon! I'm planning to upload the next five chapters hopefully by the end of this month, and after that, I'll aim for regular updates twice a month—one in the middle and one at the end.
Also, for everyone wondering what happened to Elliott/Valentine—don't worry. He'll be making an appearance in Federico's story as a side character. I haven't forgotten about him.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, for reading, supporting, and growing with me. This story wouldn't be what it is without you.
Thanks for everything and see you guys soon!! 💕🫶
