*LMAO THIS SUCKS I'M REWRITING IT*
It's past ten when I finally wake up. I shuffle over to my tablet, which is lying on my desk.
My height and weight choices appear on the screen. I decide to be tall today, so I select 5' 8" and 140 pounds.
I shoot up a few inches, then I choose long black hair and green eyes. The screen now displays my outfit choices.
I pick the sporty outfit and instantly my hair is tied up, and I'm in an athletic shirt and shorts. Normally I never pause to think how this is possible, but the thought crosses my mind.
I guess it doesn't matter. Anyway, we're not supposed to think about that. I walk over to the chute right as my breakfast slides down. I sit the tray down on my bed.
Today it's a healthy meal- yogurt with granola and orange juice. I devour the food quickly, then chug the juice. Today's Saturday and I'm determined to make the best of it.
As I slide my tablet into my backpack, I hear a repeated ding. I sigh and take the tablet out, then accept the video call. Ty, Domino, and Bridget are calling.
"Nox!" Bridget says when it connects. "Come to the pool with your swimsuit and backpack. We're all on our way."
"Luna and Nicolas are stopping by later so we have to--" Domino says but I hang up. I zip my backpack and run out the door.
When I arrive, the three are already there. I set my backpack down on a lounge chair. What's interesting about the pool is that it's at the center of the Dome even though none of the adults ever swim.
"Okay," I say. "What's the plan?" I can tell Ty has a prank in mind.
He smiles. "You'll see."
Domino laughs. "I still can't believe you and Luna are related."
It's true, our only similarity is our names. Our birth parents didn't like how there were so many rules. Of course they picked the most unpopular names from the approved list.
The names fit us, though, with my black hair and her silvery-blonde. I mean, we could change our hair if we wanted, but everyone tends to stick with the same color.
Ty takes out his tablet, and there's a large red button on the screen. "Any PDA and I press it. When I do press it, a loud siren will go through the speakers. Oh, and they'll get soaked."
I look up and see a huge bucket attached to one of the pulleys on the fake-sky ceiling. The end of the rope by us is secured to the wall.
"How did you do that?" I ask in awe. He had to have gotten the rope up more than fifty feet.
He shrugs. "So when she comes, we all have to disguise ourselves." I nod.
"Won't we get in trouble if someone sees the bucket?" Bridget asks.
"Not if we run," Ty replies.
Luna and Nicolas approach the stairs to the pool.
Domino gestures to me and I quickly change into a redhead with a preppy outfit. Ugh. I hate clothes like this.
They pass us without a second glance. I look at Bridget-- she's trying her hardest not to laugh. I stifle a giggle.
They both wade into the pool as I try to act casual. "Brrr," Luna says. "It's cold."
"I know a way to make you warm," he murmurs and she wraps his arms around him. He rests his lips on her forehead.
The siren follows immediately after and they jump apart. Ty quickly loosens the rope. I look and see the bucket tip.
Luna pulls away from Nicolas and also looks up. She screams and they duck under the water. I tap on my tablet and return to normal, but I laugh so hard that I drop the tablet.
Luna comes up shortly after Nicolas, her hair completely soaked. "Ty!" she shouts.
I almost forgot that because of the alarm, security officers are probably coming. I grab my tablet and bag, then elbow Ty. "Run," I mouth.
The four of us break into a sprint, and I take the stairs two at a time. We end up in the food court where adults have their meals. I dodge some hover chairs and disappear into the crowd.
When I stop running, my heart is pounding. When you're eighteen, life is all fun and games. I still have nine years to go before I start working, and I'm going to have all the fun I can.
I feel a heavy hand on my shoulder and gasp sharply. Then, thinking it's Ty or Domino, I relax slightly before turning around.
A man towers over me. He's not wearing the traditional guard uniform, and he doesn't have a hoverchair. I narrow my eyes.
"Who are you?" I ask. He frowns.
"Don't speak a word unless you're spoken to until we reach our destination. That means no questions."
"Yeah, uh," I say. "One proble--". I don't get a chance to finish my sentence before my wrists are bound together and my mouth silenced. I stop trying to talk when nothing comes out.
I step backwards before he had a chance to bind my ankles, and try to dart behind a hoverchair. I see the taser come and blink. When I open my eyes, I'm not in the food court. Maybe it was more than a blink.
I'm strapped to one of the hover stretchers they use to transport sick people. Half of it begins to tilt up, and I'm forced into a sitting position.
I look around. I'm in a large, round room. "Hello," a voice comes from behind me. I try to pinpoint the voice but I can't move at all.
I know that voice.
