:: the next day ::

i was currently at the grocery, buying food for my own for the whole month because i was already running out, and i was grateful i have saved enough money.

as i was stacking some chips inside the cart, i was also on my phone, checking my list if i missed anything. "bagels, check," i mumbled under my breath and smiled. "bacon and eggs, check." all of a sudden, the front part of the cart i was pushing collided with another cart.

my heart fell down below once i heard the collision. my eyes directly met the ones i collided with, and she was already looking at me. her piercing blue eyes made my whole body cold like i was placed inside a freezer for five continuous  minutes. "i am so so sorry," i pulled the cart backwards and made my way towards her. "i wasn't looking."

"yeah you weren't," she chuckled. "but that's okay. i'm nebula and you are?"

nice name you got there. "matthew," i offered her my hand and gladly, she shook it.

"i can totally read your mind, you know, so thank you." she winked at me and turned her back against me and continued walking further away from me.

my body froze for a good whole minute.

i blinked a few times, before i can even have another panic attack.

-

"i told you to be careful!" cameron, my guardian, scolded at me as i was sitting pathetically on the couch in our house. well, their house. "there are only a few of us out there and if you meet other, you know something bad will happen!"

i told him what happened to me and that nebula girl at the grocery store and he seemed so surprised about such thing.

"i know, but please, give me another chance, i will prove it to you what i am really capable of-"

"silence!" he interrupted. "even if you fall in love, either human or not, it's not a good thing! it's against the law you little shit!"

but he actually fell in love with arden, who, was also like us.

"i'm sorry," being the weak boy that i am, tears started to stream down on my cheeks. "i did not fall in love, i'm scared."

i wiped my tears away and sniffed. "i'm giving you another chance, and you better not fuck things up again, okay?" cameron continued.

"understood." with that said, i immediately stood up and went outside and drove away.

-

i knocked on her main door and there she was, standing with her sweats on together with an oversized shirt and stuffing her mouth with ben and jerry's ice cream. "hi arya."

"oh shit matt, come in."

i followed her all the way in and noticed that no one else was with her. "you all alone?" i asked.

"yeah," she placed the pint on top of the counter. "they're at a hotel right now."

"why didn't you come with them?" i sat at one of the bar stools across the counter.

she was now drinking a glass of water, and after, she spoke. "i'm too lazy man, and i'm also in the mood for ice cream today you see." she warmly smiled at me and sat across.

"what's with ice cream?" i questioned once more.

she looked away for a second before speaking. "well, it's not just my comfort food, it's also my expression of screaming for help." she emphasized the word "screaming", as she smiled forcefully.

i narrowed my eyes at her. "screaming for help? why? is anything wrong?"

"anxiety is not a joke, matthew," she replied, as if she just lost her mood.

i was just looking at her, quietly observing. "i'm sorry, i showed you such a shitty attitude."

"i know, anxiety's no joke, and if you actually need motivation, you can use me." i playfully winked at her and licked my lips.

she was stopping herself from smiling, but failed. "oh my god!" she started laughing again and her eyes were sparkling.

what a great way to end such a  stressful day.
