Mariska and Peter had been dating for 2 years now and they couldn't be happier. Since they were only dating and not married they weren't living with each other but they would spend the night and sometimes the weekend at each other's apartments.
"Good morning honey," Peter said as he watched Mariska walk sleepily into the kitchen
"Good morning," Mariska said sleepily as she tried to stifle a yawn.
She then noticed that Peter was fully dressed and his keys, wallet, and phone was on the counter as if he was about walk out the door.
"Where are you going this early?" Mariska asked curiously as she knew neither of them had to work on this particular day.
"I have to run a errand but I promise i won't be gone long," Peter said as he placed a plate of food in front of her and kissed her temple.
"Ok we'll be safe," Mariska said sweetly
"Always," Peter replied this time kissing her on the lips
Mariska watched Peter until he was out of her line of sight then she went back to eating the breakfast he had made for her.
"Mrs. Hermann," Mariska thought as she smiled to herself "Maybe one day," She said into the empty apartment before finishing her breakfast. Little did she know it would be happening sooner than she thought.
-In A Jewelery Shop in New York-
Peter had been to two other jewelery shops looking for the perfect ring. He began to get discouraged thinking he would never find the perfect ring. Now at store number three he feared he was headed for a strike out.
"What about this one sir?" The jewelry sales clerk asked as he showed Peter another gorgeous ring.
"No I'm looking for something elegant and classy but that has meaning to it," Peter said as he looked at the other rings in the case.
"Ok well there is this one," The sales clerk said as he pulled out a platinum band set with 9 evenly spaced round diamonds. " the style symbolizes that even though you'll go through rough patches there's always a happy moment up ahead,"
Peter suddenly lit up and he had a huge smile on his face.
"Its perfect I'll take it," Peter said happily now all he had to do was ask for her dads blessing and then propose and hope she says yes.
"Thank you sir have a nice day and good luck," the clerk said as he rung the ring up, packaged it and handed it to Peter.
Peter payed the clerk and thanked him for his help before leaving the store
-At Mariska's Apartment-
"Mariska honey I'm back." Peter shouted as he walked into her apartment.
" Hey baby," Mariska said sweetly as she gave him a chaste kiss on the lips "So did you get all your errands done?"
"Yep sure did," Peter said slightly nervous hoping Mariska would leave it at that and not ask more questions.
"Oooook," Mariska said eyeing him suspiciously. She knew he was hiding something but decided not to push it for now. "So my dad called while you were out,"
"Your mom and dad still flying out here tomorrow?" Peter asked
"Yep I'm picking them up from the airport tomorrow afternoon but I was wondering if you wanted to come with me and then maybe we all grab some lunch and then come back here and hang out," Mariska suggested sweetly as she gazed into peters eyes.
