I'll Be Home For Christmas (part 2)

It was later that evening when Mariska got a call from Peter.

"Hey honey how was your flight?" Mariska asked

"It was good aside from the kid kicking my seat and the guy beside me snoring incredibly loud," Peter chuckled

"Aww poor thing," Mariska said

"So what do you have planned for the rest of day babe," Peter asked as he sat on the couch in the hotel room.

"I dunno probably just clean the house then just relax and read a good book or watch Christmas movies," Mariska asked

Peter was about to respond when he heard a knock at his hotel room door.

"Hold on one second babe someone's at the door," Peter said as he went to answer the door

Moments later he returned to the phone.

"Hey I'm back sorry bout that," Peter said as he returned to the phone

"It's fine but what was that about?" Mariska asked

"That was one of the other actors in the show he was letting me know we're getting scripts and doing the table read in about 30 minutes," Peter said

"Oh," Mariska said sadly realizing that meant they would have to end their conversation.

"I'm sorry babe but I promise I'll call you before I go to sleep."Peter said hating that mariska was sad.

"Ok I'll be awaiting your call. I love you," Mariska said

"I love you too honey. I'll talk to you soon,"Peter responded as they hung up.

Mariska spent the rest of the day cleaning the house to try and get her mind off of Peter being gone but she just couldn't stop thinking about him.

As promise Peter called her later that day and they talked for hours before sleep consumed them both. Over the next few days Peter called Mariska every chance he got. It was now Christmas Eve and as far as Mariska knew Peter wasn't gonna be home for Christmas. Peter on the other hand was putting his plan into action.

"Ok so you know what to do right?" Peter asked Debra

"Yep I got it all under control all you have to worry about is your part," Debra said

"Thank you so much deb," Peter said sincerely

"Your very welcome see you soon," Debra said

"Bye," Peter said as they both hung up.

- Peter and Mariska's apartment-

Mariska was lounging on the couch reading a book when she suddenly heard the buzzer to the apartment go off. She opened the door to find Debra on the other side.

"Hey deb what are you doing here?" Mariska asked curiously as she let her in and then closed the door

"Well I thought you could use some company since Peter is still away and also we have go get pampered for the Christmas Eve ball," Debra said

"Oh I'm not going to the ball," Mariska said seriously as she grabbed two bottles of water out the fridge and handed Debra one

"Why not?" Debra asked knowing that Mariska being at that ball was part of the plan so she would have to convince her to go

"Well me and Peter were gonna go but he's still in LA so I decided I wasn't going to go," Mariska said taking a sip of her water

" Aww come on rish I'll be there and the other girls will be there. Besides its not a party unless your there," Debra said giving her the puppy dog pout
