“Sweetie, wake up…You’re gonna be late for school.”
I opened my eyes to see mom on my bed giving me a warm smile.
I wasn’t able to sleep that much last night. I hate the fact that I still kept thinking about him the whole night. It sucks!
“Mom, can I stay home today?” giving her my puppy dog eyes. “I’m kinda…you know, still not feeling well…”
“Do you want to go to the hospital?” I can hear her worried voice and it makes me feel guilty for lying.
I’m feeling a 100% okay, my body is perfectly fine but my mind isn’t. It’s in a mess right now and I just want some time to clear it from all the worries I’m feeling right now.
“No mom.” I sit down leaning my head on the headboard and looking at her worried face.
“If you don’t want to go to school right now, its fine but I want you to promise me that from now on you’ll have to take care of yourself. I don’t want to end up having a daughter on a wheel chair because of her carelessness.” She giggled.
I blushed.
I looked at her and then I hugged her. “I love you mom.”
“I love you too sweetie.”
As I looked at her, I thought of something. When I reach her age, will I be able to look just like her? She’s still young, beautiful and sexy.
She kept telling us that she never regretted the time when she and dad eloped. Grandma Liza doesn’t like dad that time. Telling mom to break up with dad because he is a bad ass, a good for nothing guy. She did what grandma told her even though she is deeply inlove with dad. She tried everything to erase that feeling. It is really hard for her to let go of dad. One night, she decided to meet dad to close everything between them PERMANENTLY. They agreed to have their own separate ways. Mom was about to leave when dad grab her hand and press his lips to hers for the last time. This is the AWKWARD moment when mom is sharing her story, telling that they went out of control of the situation which brought Megan to life. Grandma still doesn’t want her to marry dad. To make the story short, they eloped. What a very touching story isn’t it?
“Come on let’s have some breakfast and you could help me with something.” She stand up and tagging me along with her. I didn’t complain, I just smile at her.
‘I need to enjoy this moment. It’s been a long time since mom and I have done something together.’ I told myself.
“After this we will be going out.” As she passes me some bread and butter.
“Where are we going?” filling myself with some bacons. I wasn’t able to eat properly last night so I decided I have to eat twice as I can to fill my empty stomach.
“To Dianne’s house.” she took a seat beside me. “We will help them unpack their things.”
I felt my jaw hit the floor the moment I heard it. I was avoiding them as much as possible but fate always brings us together.
I can see her face full of excitedness. Mom and Dianne were bestfriends since they were kids. They were inseparable. But because of her husband’s work, she has to leave her dearest bestfriend behind.
She looked at me, confused with my reaction.
“That’ll be great!” I don’t want her to doubt that something happened between me and Dianne’s family. With Peter Gabriel Harris, to be exact!
We have to finish helping her fast so that the chance of seeing him is 0%.
I stand up, “Let’s get this over with.”
