Hailey's POV

It's been two weeks. Two miserable weeks. Two awful weeks. Two weeks full of silence. Two torturous weeks. Two weeks since Darcey was in a car accident. Two weeks since she last had her eyes open. Two weeks since she last spoke. Two weeks.

Darcey's in a coma and Liam is taking it like a bullet to the heart. He hasn't spoken more than fifteen words.

"Liam, come on, you need to eat, mate." Harry groans, trying to pull Liam out of the chair next to Darcey's bed. Liam simply shakes his head and goes back to sulking. Louis sighs, grabbing Harry, and leading him out of the room.

As I look at Liam and Darcey, I feel my eyes tearing up. I look around the room, seeing the heart monitor, beeping at its regular pace. Looking over at Liam again, I see his arm lifelessly reach out and grab Darcey's hand, mindlessly rubbing his thumb over it. It's then when I break into many hot, salty tears, streaming suddenly down my face as I turn and run out of the room.

I stop in the waiting room, walking up to Louis and just giving him a hug. As he returns the hug he kisses the top of my head, whispering, "Its going to be okay, Hailey. I promise." I sniff unattractively, looking over at Zayn, who's trying to comfort Perrie, who's also taken it hard. I start feeling more tears pour out of my eyes, and bury myself in Louis' chest.

Liam's POV

What have I done? I was the one driving the car. I was the one who was responsible for her. I'm the one who should be in that coma. I feel dreadful. Seeing Darcey's sleeping face just makes it worse.

I'm interrupted in my depressing train of thoughts as a blonde Irish boy walks in the room.

"Liam?" He says quietly, his eyes searching around the room. I look up at him, trying to look at least semi-happy, just for him. He's the most sensitive in the group, so I don't want to look too hurt, though I am.

"Um, do you want anything to eat? I'm going to McDonald's real quick if you want anything." I shake my head quickly. A little too quickly.

"Mate, there's nothing you could've done about this." A new voice steps in. Zayn.

"Really? Then why am I not in a coma?" I snap, my voice cracking like a 13-year-old boy's would.

"Liam. There is nothing you could've done about this." Zayn's voice firmer and stronger this time, "It was a drunk driver and he hit Darcey's side. You don't have to beat yourself up for this. It could happen to anyone. It's just one of the roadbumps in li-" I cut him off there.

"If it could have happened to anyone, why didn't it happen to me? Why am I not laying on that bed, with monitors all hooked up to me? Why, Zayn?" I letting a tear slip out of my eye, also noticing Niall has left.

"Um, Li-"

"No! Why? You can't tell me, can you?"

"Liam, I think you sh-" He starts, looking off to where Darcey's lying.

"Answer the question, Za-"

"For God's sakes, Liam, she's awake!" Whipping around, I see a curly blonde haired girl stirring. In a few seconds, those bright blue eyes pop open, looking dazed and confused. My mouth gapes open as I run out the room, down to where the rest of the gang are.

"She's awake." I yell.
