The past four weeks have been good for Corey and Laney.They spent most of their time together and have even gotten.....closer.Laney has even been more talkative with Coreys motivation.Right now they were at Coreys house and his parents already like her.Even his Dad!"Corey I'm bored."Laney said while ploping on his bed."Well we could go for a walk anywhere we want,It is the weekend."he said plopping down next to her.
Then there stomachs growled makeing them both blush and laugh.Then Laney got an idea of where to go and shot up from the bed."I know where to eat and have fun."she excitedly."And where might that be"He asked with a smile."When I was little me and my Dad would always go to a Dinner 5 minutes away from here and you know what's the best of it?"She asked him."What?"he said.They have a Karaoke machine over there so We can perform!"She said excited. (They also have a love for music of course.)
Coreys ears perked up and he looked at her with his goofy smile."And I even have a friend who works there so he'll let us in easy but we still got to pay for our meal."she said."Ok lets go" He said and headed down stairs."Mom we're heading out to eat"He told his mom."Ok have fun sweetie."His mom said."My Dad say its okay."Laney said while they were walking and looking at the night sky.
When they got there they were Corey was breathless.Lights were every were everyone was talking.Some having fun and some knocked out on the floor fromm partying to much.They were about to pass when someone blocked them."Sorry can't pass without adult supervison."He said."Actually there with me."The 3 turned to see a guy about 20 with with black hair,black pants,white shirt,black vest,and black shoe's.The guy blocking them moved aside and glared at them,when Laney wasn't looking Corey glared back.
Laneys pov:
Me and Corey were walking to Cesar,my friend.Yeah he is older but he is sweet and nice."Laney,what brings you here?"He asked. "Just here because I was gonna die of boredom."I replied with a laugh.He looked at me shocked for some reason.Oh yeah,my volume."Laney your finally talking in a regular volume."He said happy."Yeah.Even my Dad was surprised."I said."One more question."He said."He then pointed towards Corey."Who's this?"He asked."Oh Cesar,This is Corey,Corey Cesar."She said."Sup"They said at the same time.They glared,then laughed."Follow me,I'll get you a seat." He said and we followed him to a table.

Corey and Laney sat at there table and started ordering."So what do you guys want."Cesar asked while taking out a notepad."I'll have a Hamburger and a coke."Corey said."I'll take a salad and water."Laney said."So you guys gonna compete In the Karaoke Contest?"Cesar asked while writing their order."There's a contest,Whats the prize?"Corey asked with an eyebrows raised." $5,000 in cash."Cesar said with a smirk.Both of their eyes widen and look at him in disbelief."$ 5,000,I'm gonna win that contest."Corey said in a Confident voice."You have no idea what to spend the money on do you?"Laney asked with a smile."No,I do not!"Corey said still in a Confident voice."One problem though."Cesar said that made them look up at him.
"It has to be a duet,not single."He said."You wanna do it Laney?"Corey asked."Sounds fun.We can also split the money."She said."Let sign up."Corey said and was about to take off until."We still gotta eat."She said."Right."He replied and sat down.After about 10 minutes,They went to a table to sign up."Name's?"The judge asked."Corey Riffin and Laney Penn."Laney replied."Have you chose a song to play?" He asked."Yes we have."Corey said.Put the song on the paper and wait until your names are called."He said.Corey and Laney went back to their seats and waited.
After what felt like forever,Their names finally got announced."Corey Riffin and Laney Penn stall perform the song Marvin Gaye."The announcer said.They got up to the stage and took two microphones.The music started playing and they started singing:

The crowd went wild and cheered loudly.Corey and Laney bowed and went back to their table."Never knew you could sing like that."Corey said. Laney blushed a pulled her hair over her ear."Thanks,you were good too." Laney said."Okay the results are in and the judge have decided.The winner of the Karaoke contest is.......Corey Riffin and Laney Penn!"He said.Corey hugged Laney and spun her around causing her to giggle.They ran up to the stage where they were greeted by 3 judge's."Congratulations, you two here's your prize."One of them said. They took out suitcase with the money stacked in it. Laney took the suitcase and put it in her backpack.
"Uh Laney,why are you putting the suitcase I your backpack.Corey said."Dont worry I'm only putting it here so people won't suspect whats in it.Them we can split it in my house."Laney said."Oh."He said and they headed home.They got to her house.When they got to her room,they split the money $ 2,500 each."See you tomorrow Lanes."Corey said.Laney raised an eyebrow."Lanes?"she asked."Yeah since we're best friends now I came up with nicknames.So I call you Lanes and you can call me Core."He explained."Core.I like that."she said.He just smiled and left.
