Ep. 12

JENNIE

"Hon! Someone's calling on your phone," I tell Lisa while she's taking a shower.

"Can you answer it for me, Hon, please? Maybe it's my secretary. We have meetings today." Lisa answered back.

As she requested, I checked the caller ID, and it showed Diana. Her name looks familiar. The phone was still ringing, so I answered it.

"Hey, Lis! Are you on your way to your office now? I might drop by there today," the other line said in Thai. I can understand Thai, but I'm not fluent in speaking it.

"Hi! This is Jennie, Lisa's wife." I answered.

"Oh? Hi Jennie. I didn't know it was you who answered the call, my apologies," she said.

I don't know why it felt so weird, but I don't like her tone of voice.

"No worries. Lisa is still in the shower. Who is this, by the way?" My tone is a bit bold right now. I don't like her speaking tone, it's a bit flirty.

"Apologies. I forgot to introduce my name, I'm Diana Flipo, Lisa's friend in Thailand. And we met yesterday at your restaurant, if you could remember?" she said.

Oh? I see. That's why her name looks familiar. I was right, she's a bit familiar to me when we met, because she's Lisa's friend.

"Oh yeah! I remember. I didn't know it was you who was calling Lisa. So, yeah, Lisa is still in the shower, but I think she's almost done. Do you have a meeting today with her?" I asked her.

"There's none, I'm just planning to drop by at her office today, I thought she's already there," she answered.

"I see. Do you have something to say that you want me to relay to her?" I said. Then I heard the bathroom door open while Lisa was still drying her hair with the towel.

"Hon, who called?" Lisa asked.

"It's your friend, Diana," I answered Lisa, while handing her the phone. And she picked it up.

"Hello? Diana? It's me, Lisa."

"Hey! Lis. I was planning to drop by your office today, just want to grab breakfast with you." Lisa put on the loudspeaker on her phone so I heard what Diana said, though she said in Thai, which I can understand, and my eyebrows raised immediately while looking intently at my wife.

Lisa immediately pulled my waist to her and kissed my lips.

"Apologies, Diana, but I'm not yet in the office. Jennie and I have already eaten our breakfast. Maybe some other time, if I'm not busy,  we can schedule that breakfast with Jennie so that you can meet my beautiful wife." Lisa said while staring straight at me with her flirty smirk. 

With Lisa's answer, I gave her a quick kiss on her lips.

"Yeah sure, Lis, maybe some other time. Let's schedule that breakfast. And just so you know, I already met your wife, Jennie, yesterday, haha. I will be your new investor under KBM Group of Companies (Kim Brüschweiler-Manoban Group of Companies)." Diana proudly said.

"Really? I didn't know you had already met my wife. You didn't tell me yesterday." Lisa answered.

"Yeah. I forgot to tell you. Anyway, I'm flying back to Thailand now. My parents asked me to go back home immediately after doing business here in South Korea. And as you already know, I am now actually managing one of our businesses, so I need to go back right away to Thailand." Diana stated,

"I see. Please send my regards to Uncle and Antie. And have a safe flight." Lisa answered.

"Sure thing, thank you. Alright, bye for now."
