Chapter 28

I looked behind me right as the portal closed.
Dipper had not made it out.
Holy caesar cipher! I hear sniffling and look down to see Mabel crying. "That... That idiot! W-why was he so s-stupid!" I knelt down beside her and looked her in the eye. "Dipper made some bad choices okay? But hes still your brother. And ill do anything to help you get him back." She looked at me. "Promise?"
"I promise"
She looked slightly happier at that. It shouldnt be that hard to get him back... I mentally facepalmed. Of course! Why didnt i think of that in the first place!?!? I took mabel back to the shack. I walked up to the porch and knocked on the door. "Grunkle" Stan opened and mabel ran inside.  I explained my plan. He didnt look to happy about it, but he agreed. I went inside and talked to Wendy and Soos about it, discussing it. I got Soos to stay behind and watch mabel while Wendy and me went. I thought i had planned for everything, but not for a angry and sad looking Mabel to be guarding the door. "Mabel..."
"No. I, i wont let you go!!!"
"Mabel please"
"No!!!"
"Im doing this for you!" She greeted my words with a sadder expression.
"Thats why i cant let you go..." Her voice was scratchy and barely above a whisper. "I cant lose you to."
My expression softened, seeing what she was hinting at. "Mabel I'm coming right back here."
"Promise?"
"I promise, again"
She still had a sharp look, but let me pass. If tackling me with a hug and threatening me if i don't come back.
I hope Stan does what i tell him to...
I met up with Wendy and the stuff i needed right outside the shack. She handed me a backpack that had all the stuff i needed in it already and we set off into the woods. We got to Gideon's at around 8:30. I took a handy grappling hook out of the back pack. I started singing under my breath.
Im never gonna let you down, always gonna lift you up.
I fired it at the wall
And when your feeling lost, i will always find you love.
I helped myself and Wendy into the attic.
Im never gonna walk away, I'm always gonna have your back.  
We climbed down the stairs and into the house
And if nothing else you can always count on that.
We found our way to were the reverse twins were staying
When you need me, I'm never gonna let you down.
I slipped in quickly, making it seem like i just appeared there. They were up in a instant, knives at my throat.
"Well thats the thanks i get for spying for you?" Rev. Dippers face turned confused then happy. "Finally,  some of real bills nature rubbed off on you! Were are they hiding the girl???" I put a fake smile on my face to hide the terror.
What if they move and cut my throat out???
Im still immortal... Right?
What if they capture mabel?
What if they capture me???
But i held down and kept my cool. For mabel. The first nice person I've ever met. She deserves this. A good life with her brother. I need to thank her.
And i simply replied
"I thought you would never ask." And with that, i took them to the mystery shack.
It took a good thirty minutes to get there, and behind the soda machine, and to the portal.
"Bill, what are we doing here???"
Rev. Mabel asked. I kicked a switch Grunkle Stan had wired up to send the elevator up. Trapping us here.
Rev. Dipper saw what i had done.
He pulled out a collar and leash. Terror gripper my heart. I choked it down.
"She was here... I, i swear!!"
I started backing up. Make it look real...
"CODY!!!!!!"
I froze. MABEL, SHES. GONNA GET KILLED.
I turned to see a horrified Mabel standing there. Her eyes Flooded with tears.
"Cody please!"
Rev. Dipper put the collar around my neck in one swift motion, nodding to rev. Mabel. My heart sunk.
This is it.
Or maybe it isn't.
I picked up a rock when dipper wasn't looking, throwing it so it hit the lever that started up the portal. I whirred to life, sucking up rev. Mabel and dipper. I managed to grab a stray piece of metal pipe, keeping me from being sucked in. Mabel stood there, sobbing.
"Cody you promised!"
"I came back, didn't i?"
"Do you have to go?"
I smiled.
"Yes, but before i go, i wanted to thank you, for being the first nice person i ever met. And for showing me things, things i never knew. Thank you for showing me theres more to the world than stone walls. Ill always remember you Mabel. I hope you remember me.
All always be with you Mabel, in your dreams. Always."
And with that, i let go.
I heard her screaming my name and sobbing.
But i know i made the right choice.

Im sorry for not updating that much, I've been busy handling 2 fanfics at once.
Plz forgive me!!!!
We've only got 1 or 2 more chapters left in Reverse, i have a lot of fun writing it!
