「Elise's P.O.V」

"He sure is in a seriously bad mood." I muttered under my breath.

As soon as I got out, I spotted a man wearing a navy leather jacket and aviator glasses rushing my way. Not to mention, he was drenched from top to bottom like he just went out of a swimming pool. Glad, somebody let him in.

I guess he didn't notice me there since he bumped into me. Half of my top got wet and I lost a bit balance but the guy quickly grabbed my arms to steady me.

"I'm real sorry, Miss! Wait, hold on..." He said while quickly searching himself and he found his bandana but unfortunately it was wet too. He smiled apologetically. "Damn that storm for suddenly coming."

I smiled. "It's fine. This would dry up quickly. The real question is, are you alright?" I said gesturing at his state.

He looked at himself and laughed. "I'm like this all the time." He said, running his fingers through his black hair.

"You know, if you keep running in the rain on a mission you'll get seriously ill. At least, bring an umbrella, will you?" I suddenly blurt out. What? Mission? Why the heck did I say that? "On a job! I meant, on a job. Yeahhh..." I quickly countered.

He looked at me through his aviators. I saw his eyes widened a fraction even though the lenses were dark. He even did a double take by removing his glasses, wiping his eyes and looking at me again.

I gave him an awkward smile. 'He must think I'm crazy or something...' I thought.

His eyebrows slightly furrowed as we stared at each other. I noticed he had nice gray eyes.

Suddenly, I remembered a distant memory. 'Gray eyes?...I've seen this guy. No, scratch that. I know him but....' Then, my head started to ache but I tried to cover up the pain.

He suddenly grabs my shoulders and looked at me straight in the eye. I was taken back by his actions.

"You're...Are yo--" He was cut off by the door opening and a piercing voice.

"Gavyn, get your fucking ass in here." Lucas growled.

He instantly lets go of me like I was a hot potato and snaps his head to the direction of the voice. "Lucas." He regarded. Seems like they know each other.

"Don't make me repeat myself." Lucas said theatingly.

I felt the tension building up as I saw Lucas' balled fists. I couldn't help but glance at both of them. Lucas had a glare that could kill while Gavyn was visibly debating with himself.

"I should probably go." Gavyn sighed in defeat. I gave him an understanding nod. "Sorry again." He said and went on his way.

Lucas' shoulders relaxed but his lips were in a tight thin line. That doesn't mean anything good. Before Lucas slammed the door shut, he glanced at me and then mumbled something inaudible to Gavyn. I managed to read his lips and all I could make up was...

'What did you say to her?'

It made my heart skip a beat. I ran to the elevator and I quickly pressed the 10th floor.

'Why would he say that? I mean, are they even specifically talking about me? I need to take a chill pill. But Gavyn...Why does he feel so familiar?' I questioned myself again and again as I waited.

Finally, the doors opened. I was greeted by flying papers in my face.

"Shit." Somebody exhaled.
