Chapter 4: The Little Girl

I was laying on my sofa, with a glass of wine circling it around, not really concentrating on anything. Avia's death flashed up on the news again, and Cherry and John were on there making a statement on how sad they were. I'd seen this too many times.
I decided I couldn't watch it anymore. I sat there flicking through channels, and then I heard a noise from the kitchen. I was alone in the house so I jumped, and wondered what it was.
I put my wine down and got up. I shuffled to the kitchen and turned on the light.
In the corner of the room, a little girl was huddled in a ball. I screamed but she didn't flinch. I was freaking out.
"Hello?" She suddenly looked up and I jumped.
"Hi."
"Who are you? And how did you get into my house? I'll call the police!"
"Avia didn't like me. Avia was scared of me. I don't know why."
"Avia? How do you know about her? Give me answers!"
"Avia was my friend, silly. She helped me, so I helped her."
"How did she... Uh.. Help you?" I said.
"Her and her boyfriend killed me."
"Your.... Dead?"
"Yes. I already took care of her boyfriend, and then her."
"So why are you here?"
"Avia didn't want to leave yet. Avia wanted to stay. So she is inside you now."
"Inside me? What do you mean?"
"Her spirit is slowly possessing you. So I must kill you and then she can't hurt anyone else." Something silver stuck out of her arm. She saw me glancing at it, and began to scratch at her arm.
She pulled a kitchen knife out of her arm, the blood gushing. I felt sick. She was slowly stepping towards me, with a smile that could kill on her face.
"Stop! Please! Who are you!" I screamed.
"I'm Vera...and I have one wish..."

And then I woke up.

Sorry that this chapter is short, but I couldn't think of much detail to write in. I want to leave Vera as much as a mystery as possible. Thank you for all the views so far,
