Healing a Silent Heart

Chapter 6

This is another long Chapter. I don't think it will get too much longer than this. I apologize but it was so much I wanted to get done. But there is still more I wanted to get done so I had to cut the chapter short so Chapter 7 is where Daniel let his secret out. Hope you enjoyed this Halloween chapter. Also the following picture is how Alice's Alice in Wonderland  costume looked, its different than what people would remember.

Chapter 6

--Daniel's POV--

I was a little tired the next day after patrolling and having a run in with that vampire. I was also up thinking about Alice as well as that wolf Flynn. I really wanted to know who that guy was, but I suppose if he wanted us to know he would show himself to me, he probably doesn’t think it’s all that important.

When I got to school I kept picking up a faint trace of wolf that wasn’t me. This wolf energy felt like Flynn, meaning he was under my nose the whole time. I couldn’t pinpoint who or where this feeling was coming from as I had to go to class.

Class was pretty boring, everyone was quiet which was ok with me really but it seemed too lifeless, I know the women passing out has now trickled into this town as well. I realized it was severe as a lot of girls weren’t in class today which means they could be genuinely sick or the vampires got to them and they are home recovering or worse, dead.

Then the ballots for Halloween came out and everyone got active, I admit I was a little interested. The pack didn’t take Halloween seriously, we were one of the creatures of the night, of the moon. Though pack tradition amongst the younger wolves were to go around howling and scaring the human kids and watch werewolf movies and make fun of Hollywood.

I read through the choices and it didn’t matter anyway, I’d go to keep watch over the students that will be out and about, especially if we didn’t kill those vampires by then. I just circled one without looking and saw it was the Haunted house.

“Hey Daniel, which one did you pick?” some of the guys asked me. These guys pretty much knew me through Sandra and her pack, I didn’t care for them much but it helped me blend in better.

“I picked Haunted house.”

“Dude!”

“Haunted house just has to win!”

I could tell this pleased the other guys as they talked about pranking girls and scaring people in costumes. The fellows and class went by in a blurr I was ready to see Ally in my next class.

I saw her and my wolf was calmed significantly, I was glad she was ok, she looked tired still but she looked better than the last couple of days. I took a seat next to her and before I can figure out what to say to her she slid a note to me and I smiled, I was happy that she wanted to talk to me.

After talking about her dreams she came clean about the nightmare which I wasn’t surprised since I saw that vampire outside her window but was happy to know she was able to fall asleep again. My wolf and I was swelling in pride when she said she dreamed about us rescuing her.

‘Though she sees my wolf and I as two different beings and not one…but I wonder how many dreams she’s had about Blackie or me…’

I felt so good about it I knew staying up all night was worth it, I’d protect Alice no matter what. Web design went by like a breeze though it was until it was over and I realized at lunch Alice would be sitting with James and a table filled with guys, guys without girlfriends of their own at that. My wolf growled at that.
