Sonja's POV
Tucker hadn't returned from getting Marley, and he wouldn't answer his phone. I stood up and walked around the room, just as a pretty brunette nurse walked in.
"Is something the matter dear?" She asked, setting my food tray down on the table.
"Oh, yeah. My boyfriend left to bring our daughter here about 1 hour ago, and he never returned." I told her.
"May I ask your boyfriend's name?" She requested.
"Tucker. Tucker Boner."
"And your daughter?"
"Marley Boner." I replied. Where was she going with this?
"Oh dear." She whispered. Then she hurried out of the room.
What was that about? She left me hanging, what happened to Tucker and Marley? I paced the room with worry. After about 10 minutes she came back with a look of sorrow on her face.
"Room 170, floor 3." She whispered to me. Then she hurried away.
Wait.. So TUCKER WAS IN THE HOSPITAL?! And Marley.. Oh my poor baby!
I sprinted into the hallway and to the elevator. I was on floor 5, the short-term rooms. Floor three was.. The injury floor. I pressed the floor 3 button and waited. As soon as I got to the level I ran down the hallway and searched for the room.
153... I ran a bit more.
"165, 167, 169," I looked across the hall and grasped the door handle. Then I stopped.
What if I wasn't ready to see what happened to Tucker? What if Marley was hurt?
I braced myself, and then pushed the door open.
It was only Tucker. Marley wasn't there. He looked up at me, his eyes were red and swollen. He was crying. I ran up to him and carefully (avoiding his injuries) gave him a hug. He looked like he had a pretty bad cut on his head, and one on his thigh. Then possibly a broken arm..?
"Oh Tucker, I'm so glad you're okay!" I told him. "What happened?"
"Car crash." He said quietly, his voice hoarse.
"Where's Marley?!" I yelled, almost too loud.
"She's.. Sonja.." He started. But he started crying again. "Sonja I'm sorry.."
I froze as I knew what he was going to say. I looked into his eyes. I started crying as well. I laid my head down on his chest as he whispered in my ear.
"She's gone Sonja."
