romeo: oh my god, riley I'm so nervous. what if you think I smell weird, or you don't like my hair. or what if you think my shirt is dumb.
juliet: calm the fuck down clifford. it'll be fine. as long as you have an amazing night planned?
romeo: trust me, I do.
michael and I were finally meeting. we could have easily met before, considering we go to the same school, but I didn't want to. I just wasn't ready because what if I wasn't good enough for him? what if the moment he sees me, he'll regret ever texting me. but then again, maybe he'll end up liking me. and maybe ill end up liking him.
romeo: ohmygod riley, im in your driveway.
I heard a knock at the door. and immediately knew it was michael. I grabbed my phone and slipped on a pair of vans.
"riley! there's a boy here!" my mom sounded...excited.
I ran down the stairs and was completely surprised, when i saw the boy from the office a couple of months ago, standing in my house.
"michael, hi." i said shyly. texting him I was fine, but I already knew itd be hard for me to talk to him in person.
"riley. hi. uhm shall we go my lady" I looked from my mom to him, and he and I started laughing. "of course." he held open the front door for me, and said a 'goodbye it was nice meeting you' to my mom.
once we were in his car he was blaring all time low, on the stereo. "its weird. we met in the office and didn't even put two and two together." he looked at me before nodding in agreement.
"IVE GOT YOUR PICTURE IM COMING WITH YOU-" I cut him off.
"DEAR MARIA COUNT ME IN." we continued singing the lyrics until we arrived at a bakery. "michael, what are we doing?" he unbuckled his seatbelt before explaining. "you told me you love cookies, so I figured we'd get fresh ones." I smiled. "michael, we've been together for 20 minutes and you haven't even hugged me." "I know. im waiting for a good moment. because its gonna be the best damn hug you've ever received." his hair was now a light shade of blue. it looked good on him, but it made him look even paler. he was wearing a white shirt with a black jacket, considering it was pretty cold outside. and it was something about the way the moonlight hit his face that made him look irresistible. I loved it.
"michael" i was about to compliment him, but I was afraid of what would result. not because of the compliment, but because of me moving. what if we realize we have feelings for each other, and I'm moving two hours away. I don't want to get hurt, and I sure as hell don't want him getting hurt. so instead of telling him how amazing he looked. and how perfect the blue. color suited him, I said "the cookies."
"oh right." he said. he turned around and paid the guy at the counter."so riley, are you scared of heights?" yes. "nope." why did I just say that. "good." he grabbed my hand and led me through the streets of new york, until we came to a tall building. there were still several lights on, and michael pushed open the front doors. "come on." he whispered. "were not really supposed to be in here but the view is amazing."
and that's how I ended up on top of a building looking over new york city with a blue haired boy who i think I'm developing feelings for. "can I hug you now?" he asked. I simply nodded as he wrapped his arms around my waist. his head was in my neck, and mine in his. my arms were laced around his torso. and i realized after two months of nonstop texting this boy I was falling for him.
