rileys pov:

unknown number: "i guess we're a perfect match ;)"

I received this message the day after I got my results.

me:"if this isn't michael clifford, im not interested."

unknown number: "I guess you're in luck."

me: i guess i am.

mikey: i need to get to know my 'soul mate'. favorite band?

me: this is possibly the worst question you could ask me. uhhhh fuck, im into: all time low, green day, mayday parade, sleeping with sirens, pierce the veil, etc.

mikey: im in love.

me: slow down romeo.

mikey: anything for my dear juliet. ;)

we continued to text nonstop. it was weird because we actually had a lot in common. he was a really cool guy. I normally didn't try with guys. I never had much luck. ive never had a real boyfriend. hell, ive never even had pointless boyfriend in like second grade. i just didn't trust guys. the last time I trusted a guy, he lost it. we were at a park and he tried to slip his hand up my skirt. I was fourteen. I didn't understand that him trying to take control was completely wrong. but I didn't like it. michael seemed different. he seemed nice.

mikey: when can we meet???

me: soon. i promise.

mikey: you owe me a milkshake for making me wait so long just to hug you.

me: you're romeo, you should be buying me the milkshake.

mikey: but you're the one pushing away 'true love'

me: romeo romeo, where for art thou milkshake you should be buying me.

romeo: i hate you.

juliet: guess we won't be meeting then. :c

romeo: fine fine fine.

michael was sweet. he texted me in the morning and at night. and in between. he was pretty much perfect. im not sure how I felt about him. I cared about him, but I think we're just really good friends.

when I got home my parents were sitting at the kitchen table, with my younger siblings. my dad normally worked till 8. and my mom would normally be cooking dinner. "sweetie we need to talk to you." my mother said. "what's going on, oh no. grandmas dead isn't she?" I knew my grandma was old but I didn't think she'd die out of nowhere. "no no no. your grandmother's fine. but, you're father got a promotion." "dad that's great!" I was happy for my dad. he was always working so hard. he deserved this. "well, his promotion is at a business located two hours away. im afraid we're moving." I felt my jaw drop. this couldn't be happening. i wasn't okay with leaving my best friend, and michael. we were planning on hanging out. now what would happen?

juliet: mike.... we're never meeting.

romeo: oh god, did I say something. im so sorry.

juliet: no mikey its not you. my dad got a promotion. i have to move. we're moving two hours away. we leave in a week.

romeo: is this the part where I run to you and we confess our love? because I wouldn't call it love, but I'd call it something.

juliet: i promise ill still text you everyday.

mikey: can we please meet before you move?

juliet: of course.
