I have come to the conclusion that the walls are made from cinderblock. It's cheap, really. Anybody can bulldoze a cinder block wall down. Heck, I'm sure I could punch a hole in it if I had to. Unfortunately for me though, I'm tied to a detonator. Not that I need to remind myself.
I suppose they used such cheap bricks to build this cell because they knew they were going to blow it up. They were hardly going to blow up a perfectly good solid metal cell now, were they? Of course not. So they used cinderblocks. Good ole' cinderblocks.
I wonder if Alex would like a cinderblock thrown at his big head.
The thought of this makes me smile, but not for long, because the pain from the cinderblock hitting his skull would not be enough. It wouldn't be a fair price to pay for what he did to me at the waterfall.
The waterfall.
What he did at the waterfall...I'm not ready to think about that yet. But will I ever be? Things are complicated when I think back to the waterfall and Alex doing what he did, and then at Camp when he said those words that still make my head swirl.
It just doesn't make any sense.
Although you never really made any sense, Alex. For such a smart boy, you just can never figure out how to tackle a tricky situation.
Like that time in the forest, and the mutated vines nearly killed us both.
I saved your ass that day.
But I know now, that you will never return the favour.

It took three whole days for the rain to give in to the sun. We had lost three days of travelling, and I knew for a fact that we were lost. On the bright side, my ankle had healed up slightly, so I was able to travel greater distances for a longer period of time.
That still didn't change the fact that we were lost though.
And it was when we passed the same tree stump five times that I sighed and decided to state the obvious to Alex out loud.
"Alex, we're lost." I said, settling down on the tree stump.
Alex shook his head.
"No, I'm telling you Lia, this is the path. I've travelled through here over a thousand times..." he trailed off, his pupils darting from the split paths in front of us.
"I think it's right here....or is it left? Dammit..." he cursed, running a hand through his hair.
"How about we go left? Looks like the nicer path anyway." I said, standing up and placing my hand on the back of Alex's shoulder. He shook it off and sighed out in frustration.
"No. I think we should go right." he mumbled, and I threw up my hands and left him to lead the way. I was a little pissed off that he was being so difficult, but then again, his mind seemed as if it was elsewhere. He marched off down the dodgy looking path and I followed him, rolling my eyes at the back of his head.
Alex could be so stubborn when he wanted to be, but so could I. A flaw in both of our personalities, I suppose. But where I could be so easily persuaded, Alex was never one to change his mind or his opinions (right or wrong, that is).
But when I noticed the thorny vines twitching around us as we travelled further into the depths of a darker forest, I sensed something wasn't right. The sky was hidden by tall trees, and the vines could move. It was a mutation trap, I was sure of it.
When the overpopulation began, the Government decided to pay scientists large amounts of money to help improve our world. They were supposed to make more food, discover new ways to create houses underwater and shit like that.
