The morning dawned beautifully, with the sun painting the sky in hues of gold and rose, its gentle light filtering onto the earth, stirring people from their deep slumber. Jungkook awoke with a groan, a dull ache radiating through his lower back. He cast a pointed glare at Taehyung, who lay beside him, sleeping soundly with a soft pout gracing his lips.
"Look at him," Jungkook mumbled, gently rubbing his aching back, "sleeping so peacefully after practically dismantling the bed."
Jungkook, wincing with each step, gingerly made his way towards the bathroom, using the wall for support. A string of colorful curses played out in his mind, each one directed squarely at the oblivious figure still slumbering in their bed.
"Oh, you sweet, innocent-looking angel," he muttered under his breath, his teeth gritted slightly as a particularly sharp twinge shot through his lower back.
"Just wait until you wake up, you bed-demolishing menace. You'll be singing a different tune when I tell you my back feels like it's been run over by a... by a very enthusiastic tractor!"
He shuffled further, his hand sliding along the cool plaster. "Sleeping like a baby, huh? Well, someone has to pay for this delightful soreness. Just you wait, Kim Taehyung. Just you wait."
Closer to the bathroom door, Jungkook's internal monologue intensified, each imagined word laced with a mixture of pain and playful exasperation.
"Seriously," he thought, his steps slow and deliberate, "a herd of wild elephants couldn't have done a more thorough job on my spine. And look at him! Not a care in the world. Sleeping like he's floating on a cloud of... of pure, unadulterated smugness."
He paused, leaning heavily against the doorframe. "You know, for someone who looks like an actual angel when he sleeps, he sure can be a devil in... well, you know. My poor back. It feels like it's been twisted into a pretzel and then used as a trampoline by a bunch of hyperactive toddlers. And whose fault is that, Mr. Peaceful Sleeper? Yours! All yours!"
He finally reached the sink, gripping the edge tightly. "Just you wait until you're awake, Kim Taehyung. I'm going to tell you exactly how much my back appreciates your... enthusiasm. And maybe, just maybe, you'll be the one groaning when I demand a full-body massage. For hours. Yes, hours! That'll teach you to sleep so soundly while your wifey feels like he's been through a medieval torture session. Honestly!"
Once Jungkook had finally made it inside the bathroom, leaning against the closed door with a sigh of relief, a sudden, loud sneeze echoed from the bedroom.
Taehyung stirred, his eyes fluttering open, a confused frown creasing his brow. "Achoo!" he sneezed again, a ticklish sensation in his nose. He rubbed it sleepily.
"Huh?" he mumbled, his voice still thick with sleep. "Someone must be talking about me... or cursing me. Feels more like cursing, though," he added, a playful shiver running down his spine.
He stretched languidly, his limbs still pleasantly heavy with sleep. "Wonder who's got it in for me this fine morning?" He blinked, his eyes focusing on the empty space beside him.
"Jungkook?" he called out, his voice a little louder this time. "Baby? You awake?" He waited for a response, but the only sound was the gentle hum of the morning air. He sat up, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Well, whoever's sending me these sneezy vibes is about to get a very sleepy and cuddly visitor."
Jungkook emerged from the bathroom, moving with a careful stiffness. He noticed Taehyung still lying on the bed, one arm draped across his eyes, a soft groan escaping his lips. Jungkook made his way to the mirror, picking up a towel to dry his damp hair, all the while observing Taehyung's seemingly peaceful state in the reflection.
