Now that we moved I had to go to a new school, which meant make new friends. I knew I was going to miss my old friends a lot! However, I felt optimistic and thought of it as a fresh start, an opportunity to change my life, a new beginning. I was never particularly good at making friends because I never knew how to approach people and start a conversation. It was no longer primary school where you could just say "hey wanna be friends" and they would just reply "yes I would love to be your friend" or you could just give them half of your chocolate digestive and then before you know it you guys are playing together, having play dates and all of a sudden are best friends. No, now it's a lot harder! It's now like a chess game, every move must be made through a long process of thinking, and must be very strategic; One wrong move, someone yells check mate, your life's ended. Everyone is trying to find their way to the top of the hierarchy. It's a complicated game.

Brrrinnggggg! Brrrinnnggg! I woke up to the sound of the house phone. I slowly emerged from under the sheets, and yawned like a growling beast. I slowly took it step by step to the phone. Brrrinnnggg! Brrrinnnggg! I picked up the pace, then picked up the phone.

"Hello?" I said half asleep, while yawning and struggling to open my eyes fully.

"Hey Jamal, I left breakfast ready for you, and took Abdullah to school, all you need to do is eat, and your clothing is in the wardrobe. I finished ironing it so you don't need to worry about that, and I've left your money on the counter" mum instructed.
"And don't forget to make your bed"

"Okay thanks mum" I replied barely listening as I was more concentrated on trying to open my eyes.

"Have a great day Jamal, I love you!" She said sincerely.

"I love you too mum" I replied with a great big smile on my face, as I tried to open my eyes.

I put the phone down, and then went to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth, I then slowly stripped shirt down and looked in the mirror posing, and flexing, to see my gains. Once I was done I jumped in the shower, and as soon as I switched it on I realised it was cold, by cold I mean freezing, very very very cold. I automatically jumped with a great shiver, and quickly made the water warmer. The warm water comforted me, and made me feel nice and relaxed. Once I was done I jumped out of the shower rapping to the latest Eminem song I knew, as I was incredibly pumped for my first day of school. I slowly got changed, paying a lot of attention to my appearance, combed my hair with great attention, put cream on, and making sure I looked slick I used a little bit of my mums hairspray just to give that extra shine on my fresh haircut. I had to make a good impression.
I then walked into the kitchen and was greeted by a pack of Oreos and milk but I really didn't feel like eating, so I quickly chugged down the big, cold glass of milk, put my fresh pair of shoes on, grabbed my bag, and sprinted out not forgetting to lock the door. Everything was going to plan!

It was a great sensation wearing that fresh uniform, just a little big to make sure it would last me the whole year, it had felt like I was being swallowed by the shirt. I walked to school with my Apple earphones in, finishing my Eminem playlist, and planning out how I'd go in to school and make friends. The plan was perfect, and so visual. If the plan was to work perfectly I would be popular within a few days but I was still doubting myself, because I always plan stuff but once I get to the moment I always end up procrastinating or just losing the courage to do it, but I knew this time would be different.
