::Chapter Two::
After a further ten minutes ofsilence we called it quits and I was ever so glad.
"Thanks Brook, I know thatmust have been hard for you. Are you alright?" Zak asked gentlyplacing his hand on my shoulder.
"I'm fine, honestly don'tworry about it, glad I could help you collect some evidence." Iflashed him a weak smile.
"Listen were about to head outfor some food, would you maybe like to join us?" Zak asked leaningagainst the railing.
"Thanks, but I couldn't imposelike that."
"I invited you, there is noimposition."
"Where you going?"
"We haven't decided yet, maybeyou could suggest a good place?"
"Well revolution is an awesomeplace. You get these crates full of food. But unless you have ahuuuge apatite thats a thing to share. They also do al sorts ofburgers, burritos, other kinds of wraps. Ugh my mouth is watering justthinking about it."
"Mine too, lets go." Aaronsaid heading for the door.
"So you joining?"
"I can't say no to revolution,I'm in. Let me grab my purse from the staff room." I hurriedthrough said goodbye to Liam and grabbed my purse meeting the othersIn the parking lot.
"So should I drive leading theway?"
"Oh right you have a car, howabout you just hop in with us, we have to come back after to talk toLiam so you can pick up your car?"
"Fine by me." I hopped inthe back seat next to Aaron while Nick was up front while Zak drove.I gave directions when the sat nav failed to find the correct place.
After fifteen minutes we finallyfound a parking spot a little way from the bar. Zak pulled up and fedthe meter before letting me lead the way. When we entered the placewas quite full but I spotted a table for four in the far corner andhurried before anyone else beat us to it.
"Okay I've just literallylooked at this menu and my mouth is watering." Aaron said I gave anod of agreement.
"There is too much choice, Iwant everything. Brook any suggestions?" Nick asked.
"Honestly I struggle to chosemyself so far i've yet to find something I don;t like on this menu. Ireally want a street crate but it is designed to share. I don'tsuppose anyone would want to share with me?"
"Uhwhat's in it?" Zak asked reading the menu. "Twopulled beef sliders, viper dusted fat chips, buttermilk friedchicken, dough dogs, BBQ crackling puffs, hot buffalo sauce, big easymayo, chipotle sauce. That sounds pretty good, I'd share."
"Relalyyou're not just saying that? I can easy order a single meal."
"Nohonestly that sounds good."
"Cool,you guys decided yet?"
"No,that Is impossible."
"Okaylets see...The pulled salt beef is the best wrap and all the hot dogsare good. Ugh who am I kidding everything, I highly doubt you will bedisappointed with anything you order."
"Okay I'm going for the smokindog." Aaron announces.
"I'll go for the smokin backburger." Nick announced. We flagged down a waitress and passed ourorder onto her along with our desired beverage.
"So Brook, have you alwayslived here in Aberdeen?"
"No, I've only lived here thelast two years. I used to commute to work but it got far to expensiveso I decided to make the move here."
"Did you live far before?"
"I used to Live in a smalltown about 40 miles south of here called Montrose."
"Never heard of it." Hereplied
"That doesn't surprise me, notmany people do, that includes fellow Scots especially those furtherdown south."
"Are there any hunted placesthere we could check out?"
"Hmm not really, I mean thereare rumours that the links hotel is haunted. Many guests have seen achild running around the main lobby and the maid on the stairs."
"Really? May have to keep thatplace in mind."
A further ten fifteen minutes ofsmall talk passed before our food arrived. We didn't take long to alltuck in. The guys couldn't stop praising the food.
"Didn't I tell you? To diefor." We were all enjoying our food so much so that chatting ceaseduntil we were pretty much done. Zak and I failed to finish everythingeven between us Nick managed all his fries and only half his burgerand Aaron finished all his. We got our left overs boxed up as it wasfar to good to waste.
"I'm too full to move, can youjust put me on my side and roll me to the car? That would be great."I laughed holding my stomach.
"Me too." Nick rubbed hisstomach. "But it was so good."
"We need to come here againbefore we head home dudes." Aaron suggested and the others agreed.
"Right as much as I don't wantto move right now, we should get back. Oh but before we do, Brook Iwanted to ask if and you can feel free to say no to this but howwould you feel about coming with us on our entire lock down?" Ipaused a long moment so Zak went on. "See in each lock down we tryto use trigger objects, weather that is indeed an object or a personand well you have a connection with the spirits and I think thatwould make for amazing evidence, but again I completely understand ifyou don't want too."
"I took a deep breath, lookedat him and said. "You are lucky you are so cute. I'll do it." Iwent to put my part of the bill in but Zak stopped me.
"It's on me, lets call it athank you for all you're doing for us." I nodded.
"Thanks."
When we arrived back at thehotel Zak and I exchanged numbers so we could keep in touch in casethere were any changes to the plan but as it stood right now I was tomeet them here at 5pm which is an hour before sundown and he would goover the lock down details and get me equipped. We all said ourgoodbyes and I drove home unsure how I felt about everything.
