::Chapter Thirteen::
With a heavy sigh i sit up and flick on the lamp checking the clock on my bedside. 2:15am. I had been lying in the dark for the last two hours trying to drift of to sleep but it was no use. So i grabbed my laptop and opened up my blog, clicked on new post and started to type away.
CAN'T SLEEP, GAH!
I've been lying in the dark trying to sleep for the last two hours but my brain just refuses to shut down. I've always been a night owl but i had hoped the time difference would have somehow made my sleeping regular, seems i was wrong.
I've just too many things going around in my head at the moment. Good things i might add.
My life has dramatically changed in the last few days and it's a lot to take in. I mean this time last week i was sitting in a dank and dingy house in Scotland with little to no money to my name and now i'm here in beautiful Las Vegas, with a wonderful new job to look forward to and the possibility of achieving my dream of becoming a professional photographer, it's crazy, but don't think i'm not grateful. There is no words in the world to explain how grateful i am, to Zak for everything, to Aaron for being a great friend and helping me get my foot in the world of photography and to Nick for being such an amazing friend. I have never known what it felt like t be truly blessed until now.
I hit post then clicked onto my twitter to see what was happening in the twittersphere. Not a whole lot really. I then checked Facebook and Instagram.
I noticed Aaron posted a pic a half hour ago captioned 'What a view' IT was a view of the strip, I commented
Hey_It's_Brook: it's so beautiful, you there now?
aarongoodwin: Hey Brook, I am, waiting on the sun to come up.
Hey_It's_Brook: You do know that's not for hours yet right? Lol
aarongoodwin: I know, i'm just chilling with coffee while i wait. What you doing up?
Hey_It's_Brook: Can't sleep. :( :(
aarongoodwin: Come join me if you want?
Hey-It's_Brook: Sure a walk sounds good. where exactly are you.
aarongoodwin: I'm At the Cosmo. I'll meet you on the street.
Hey_It's_Brook: On my way.
Closing the laptop i slip out of bed and slip into a pair of black jeggings my cons and i slip on a sweater over my bed tee. I grab my phone and house keys before slipping out the door.
On my way i came across a 24 hr coffee shop and bought two cups of coffee. As he said i met Aaron on the street in front of Cosmo. I had to admit walking along the strip at night was such a breathtaking beautiful walk. i can see why Aaron done it.
"hey there. So this is what you get up to at night?" I greeted him with a hug and handed him a fresh coffee.
"Oh thanks, fresh coffee. Yeah, this is my life."
"So you just go out walking all night? I mean i can see why, this is so beautiful."
"Yeah, i hate being cooped up in the house and well i sleep most of the day. Do a bit of work and what not the rest of the day then when everyone is going to bed i'm awake so i come and enjoy the city at it's best." "Why you up?"
"I'm a night owl too, i've never been a big sleeper, besides my brain just wouldn't shut off."
He led me up to where he was when he took the photo and we sat there enjoying the view, our coffee, each others company and some small talk while we waited for the sun to come up.
