Kay and I were almost out the forest, when something took hold of me and threw me against a big rock. When I stood up, I saw a fist coming straight for my face, and of course I dodged it. Though when I did it, I ran to the last place I saw Kay. I couldn't risk anything happening to her she is the only family I have.

When I saw her she was being fought too so I ran to help and pushed who ever it was away. We were about to take off when they jumped out in front of us. And I could see them clearly I knew exactly who these two were. They were apart of the Thomas Edward Brady's clan, and all I can think about was how much of a kiss ass he is to the elders.

But anyway we are all just standing there looking at each other. And I mean I'm not going to lie, they are pretty cute. One is short, about the same height as me, but the other one was pretty tall. And they were very fit too. But what was I thinking? They are just going to turn us in to Brady anyway.

"Who are you?" They ask.

I replied with, "piss off."

But when I said that they just smiled .Then they said something that shocked me.

"Look we know who you two are," the tall one stated.

"But?" Kay and I asked in unison.

"But we just can't turn yall in," the short one explains.

"And why is that?" Kay asked.

Then the tall one replied with, "we are not sure but we just feel a connection with you two."

In that moment Kay got all flustered while staring at the tall one while I rolled my eyes. I had a feeling the moment I fully saw them that she would do this. She's been doing this every single time we came in connect with good-looking guys.

She'd put up a tough act but the moment they make some type of move she gets all....what's the word? Not Kay, I guess. It's like she putty in the guy's hands and melts.

It's hard to explain.

"How do we know we can trust you? Isn't your leader all goody two shoes with the elders who, may I remind you, want the two of us?" I asked giving them a hard glare.

"Listen, I have a nice little cottage near the border. Nobody knows about it besides Rob and I here. So you will be perfectly safe there," the short one said.

"Plus your little friend is from around here, isn't she?" The tall one, well Rob, asked.

"How did you know that?" We both asked suspiciously.

"It's not hard to notice a fellow citizen from the area even if she did run away many years ago. So if you guys wanted to you could always just run."

"But it may be better if you guys came along," Rob said.

"I say we go," Kay said immediately not letting anyone even breathe. I gave her a knowing look but she just nudged my side while smiling at them. Mentally rolling my eyes, I sighed and before I knew it the two of us were off following the tall and short one.

A few moments later, we arrived at a nice little cottage house. Kay and I looked around it making sure there weren't any traps. Well let me rephrase that, I looked around while she just walked in as if she's been friends with them forever and sat on their couch. She easily trusts people for some odd reason so people can easily manipulate her and take advantage of her.

That's where I come in.

I'm almost the complete opposite of her. I stay aware of my surroundings and don't trust as easily. Especially since the whole thing with the elders, I can't just trust everyone we meet. For all I know, we trust them and the next day we get turned in. So I have to be the one on alert all the time.
