Liam paced around his office, awaiting news of the mission's status. What was concerning about the fate of the backstabbing plans was the large amounts of cargo ships entering Earth orbit. What was JcJenson planning to do? What was in those ships? Soldiers? Weapons?

He looked out the window, towards the large civilian camps and the construction of the megacities. The existing countries had already decided to merge into one government, ruling over every inch of available land, which was actually a whole lot.

Things were finally looking good for humanity. For the ones on this planet, at least, because the ones on Earth were definitely not having a good time.

Maybe things were finally going great, maybe humanity would shine as bright like it used to.

Liam sat down, opening his laptop. Windows 27. So much for Windows 24 being the 'actual final version of windows guys'. He opened up this old relic of a video game called 'Kerbal Space Program' and started making kerbal-guided ICBMs to kill some time.

You and Robert decided to take a long walk to explore the small city of New Warsaw 2.0 a little more. As marked on the map, there were several of those strange bunkers scattered around the outskirts of the city.

Robert had crossed out the one you explored and deemed destroyed with the non-branded pen.

"You want to walk around the city blocks a bit and then head to one of those other bunkers?" you asked Robert, who was fiddling with his gun's magazine release mechanism.

"Yeah, sure, I don't see why not," he said, as he looked around a bit. "Oh hey, look! An electronics store!"

You turned to where he was pointing, and took a look. Lehto Electronics.

Okay, that looks pretty cool, you thought.

Robert walked across the empty downtown-outskirt street, and you followed. He used his gun to smash the last remaining large display window. You took a look around. It was mostly empty, with a few gadgets and stuff left behind.

A USB-C charger lay on the floor, cut in half. A pair of headphones, but cut in half VERTICALLY, was also lying next to it. You picked it up.

"Who has the time to do this?" you asked Robert, who had picked up a laser pointer.

He turned around, and took a look at it.

"What the hell?" He touched it, taking a close look. "This is weird."

"Yeah, what a useless thing to do," you said, as you tossed it over your shoulder and into a pile of glass shards.

"Well, look at this thing!" Robert said excitedly, holding up the laser pointer. "Still has the 'pull plastic tab to activate' thing in it!"

"Try it! Does it still work?" you replied, scanning the storefront for anything else.

He pulled the tab out, and pressed the button. A small red dot appeared on the opposite wall.

"What's the range of that thing?" you asked. He stepped back further and further away until he was on the opposite side of the street. It was still visible, but a little faded.

"It's faded a bit, but I can still see it!" you yelled. "Not bad!"

Robert walked back in, smiling.

"You know what would be really funny? Considering how hostile the populace here are, it wouldn't hurt to do this anyways. So, we wait until night, try to find some unsuspecting worker drone stumbling up and about, and point this laser at them," Robert joked, before continuing. "And we tell them to 'drop whatever you have!' and watch as they run!"
