Harry
"Cmon Styles. Just one more."
The annoying blonde kids yells at me. I'm pretty sure that's not even his real hair color. I see him all the time and go to a lot of his parties so I'm familiar with him.
"Nah that's it. I'm good."
It's 11:30 on a Monday night. I have no clue what I'm doing at this house party anyways. Liam joins me by the counter.
"You good man?" He asks taking a sip of his beer.
"Yeah I'm good. I should really get going actually."
"Are you kidding me? It's only 11:52"
"I'm not really feeling it tonight. I'm gonna go."
"Alright bro. I'll see ya later."
I begin pulling my car out of the driveway. The drive home is subtle. The city lights are passing me by. The sounds of cars honking and the low mumble of people walking around the streets at night fill the air. By the time I pull up to my apartment it's 12:26. My head is throbbing from the alcohol flowing through my system. I don't even care about changing out of my clothes. My apartment is so quiet and vacant. I flop onto my bed with the same clothes I wore to the party. I lay there until I feel my eyes start to get heavy. Eventually they close and I fall asleep feeling lonely.
The sun beaming through my window is too much for me to handle this early in the morning. I gaze over at my clock on the side of my bed and realize it's 7:47. Holy shit. I have class in 18 minutes. I contemplate whether or not I should take a quick shower. I decide against it. Instead I throw on a red flannel that was sitting on a chair in the corner of my room. I brush my teeth and run my fingers through my hair. How did I not hear my alarm this morning? I zoom through the streets of LA hoping to make it on time. I pull into the parking lot and sprint my ass to class. I burst through the doors with heavy breaths.
"A new record Mr. Styles. Take a seat please." Mrs. Smith says.
I sense a hint of sarcasm in her voice and sit in the only seat that's open. The world must be playing a sick joke on me. It's the chick from the coffee shop. She's literally everywhere I am. I feel as though she's going to start a conversation with me but to my surprise, she doesn't even acknowledge my presence.
Lea
Once again Harry has made an entrance. Is he ever on time? He doesn't seem very happy so I don't even bother wasting my time.
"I hope everyone has started their assignment. It will be due before you know it."
As the rest of the class goes on, she begins talking about the importance of capturing your reader. I get a text form Christina saying she's on her way to her internship. She has always been a hard worker, so when she told me that she got an internship at one of LA's biggest publishing company, I couldn't help but be happy for her. The both of us have always been so passionate about reading and writing. We met my freshman year of high school and her sophomore year in creative writing. We've been inseparable ever since.
After class I notice a blonde guy with a funky hat walking towards me. He sticks his hand out waiting for me to return the favor.
"It's Lea right?" He asks smiling.
"Yes." I shake it back.
"I'm Niall. Well hey I'm having a house party this Friday if you want to join." I'm unsure of how to respond. I haven't been to a party in a while.
" Oh cool. Thanks I'll try to drop by."
I mean why not? This would be a good time to make more friends. I see Harry walking toward us. He acknowledges me.
"You two know each other?" Niall asks confused.
"Yeah we've bumped into each other a couple of times so I guess so." He replies with a smirk.
"Cool well maybe both of you can come to the party then. "
"Do you do anything else except party?" Harry asks. His voice came out so deep and raspy.
"Yeah I go to school." His smart ass comment gets a laugh from me. "Anyways," he continues "bring anyone you want."
"Well thanks I'll keep that in mind."
Harry
"Why would you do that?" I ask after Lea walks away.
"Do what? Invite her?" I nod.
"She seems cool."
"Well she seems annoying."
"How do you know? Have you even gotten to know her?" We begin walking to my car.
"All I know is that she drops her stuff. A lot."
"What? What does that have to do with anything?"
"I don't know. She just does" I may have been a wee bit dramatic. She only dropped her wallet once.
"Okay well you're going to go right?" he asks.
"Yeah I don't know. Maybe." I get into my car. "I'll think about it. "
