Friday approaches quicker than I thought it would. It's September 13th. Christina knocks on my door.
"Good morning." she says as she climbs into the bed next to me. Both of us lay staring at the ceiling. Luckily, I don't have any classes today.
"How are you feeling?"
I sit up against my headboard and check the time.
"I'm not sure. It's mixed feelings right now."
"Well I made some coffee. It's in the kitchen.
"Thanks C," I say.
"I'm going to run some errands today so call me if you need anything. "
She begins to walk out the door. Maybe I should get up. I don't have much to do today so I decide to just wear some leggings and a PINK zip up. There's that party tonight. I contemplate whether or not I want to go. It's only 10:30 so I drive over to Target. There's a sale going on so I splurge on a couple of bathing suits and this super cute white eyelet dress. After about an hour in there, I decide to call Christina. When she picks up I answer.
"Hey do you want to go get lunch or something?"
"Right now?"
"Or not. I mean if you're busy..." Feeling guilty, I take back my offer.
"No I'm free. I just don't want to go looking all bummy. I'm wearing joggers and a sweater."
"Oh well let's meet up at home because I want to change now too."
"Alright. I'll be home in 20 minutes."
We hang up and I head home. I get there before Christina does so I try to start my story. I honestly have no clue how to start this. It always takes me a while to formulate my thoughts my thoughts onto the paper. Christina barges through the door.
"Sorry I'm late. There was traffic on the freeway." She rushes to get ready. We decide on a small restaurant downtown.
"What did you do today?" she asks.
"I just went to Target and bought some stuff."
"Look I know today is going to be a little rough for you, but go and do something for yourself today. You deserve it!"
"Well actually there's a party-" She cuts me off excitedly.
"There you go! Go to this party! Have fun, relax!"
"Come with me." I suggest. The waiter places our food on the table. I start to poke my fork at the lettuce.
"I wish I could babe but I've got a date tonight." I almost choke on my salad.
"A DATE?! With who??"
" I met this guy at work named Luke. He's really sweet."
"Wow that was quick! I'll just go by myself. It's a good chance to meet and make new friends since you're basically the only one I have." I laugh.
"And what's wrong with that? I'm a great ass friend!"
"I never once doubted you!" We both laugh.
We spend the rest of the afternoon pampering ourselves and getting our nails done.By the time 8:30 rolls around, I decide to start getting ready. I don't even know what to wear. I stand in the front of my closet contemplating what to wear. Christina knocks on my door once again.
"I'm going to get going."
"Alright have fun!" I stand up and look at her. She looks hot in that red dress.
"Please have fun tonight. Let loose a bit."
Laughing at her comment. "I will! Now go before the poor guy thinks you stood him up!"
She laughs too and starts walking out my door. "Alright okay!" She puts her hands up defensively. "Bye! I love you!" She shuts the front door and it's quiet once again. I settle on a black bodycon. Something simple, it's not like I have anyone to impress. My hair is curled in light and loose waves. I decide not to pin it back so it's just cascading over my shoulders. I decide to put a little bit of makeup on to make it look like I just didn't roll out of bed. I put on some eyeliner, mascara, and a little bit of bronzer to bring some color back into my face. I find my favorite deep maroon colored lipstick and apply it. It's 9:20 and I head out the door. I put the address Niall sent me earlier into my phone. The drive is only 20 minutes. When I drive down the street the house is on, i realize how big the house is. I find it on the left side and pull up next to the sidewalk. It's then I instantly regret showing up.
