We had just gotten done with our fifth show this week. Giselle and Mary sat around backstage, getting cleaned up and ready for our meet and greet with the fans. Mary set down her drumsticks on the little table that's placed in the center of the room. I smiled to myself as I heard some fans still screaming out in the auditorium. Giselle looks over at me and laughs. I give her an expression as if saying what?
"Crazy, isn't it?" She chuckles. "Can't wait for the meet and greet!" Giselle cheers and jumps up from her seat, still hyped from the show.
"Well," I start. "It's in about ten, so chill dude." I laugh at her excitement. She nods at me and sits herself back down in her chair.
Giselle motions for me to go sit next to her since I'm standing, but I refused her offer. She shrugs at my response and fixed her position so she's now lying down on the small couch.
Mary walks over to the small wardrobe that hangs in the back of the room. "Kaylie!" She calls my name. I groan and turn to her. "Come help me pick out a fresh shirt." I nod and walk over to her. I pull out a grey Nirvana shirt and hold it against her frame.
"You like this one?" I ask. She shrugs and pulls a Pink Floyd shirt off a hanger and smiles. I send her a scowl look.
She looks at me and frowns. "There's a reasonable explanation," she starts. "One, I like this band and two, its black." She gleams at the shirt.
I groan at her explanation. "So much for me helping you." I mumble, walking away from her, going over to Giselle's sprawled out body.
I lift her legs up and attach myself to the couch before placing her legs on top on my tighs.
"Where's Nat?" I ask. She looks around the small room and shrugs.
"I don't know, girl. Try texting her." She suggests. As soon as the final word leaves Giselle's mouth, Natalia runs in the room, slamming the wooden door shut behind her.
"Boys," she chuckles nervously, "It's like a freaking stampede out there." She says, wiping the glistening sweat beads off her forehead with the back of her palm.
"You look like you're about to roll over and die." Mary points out, tugging the t-shirt over her head. She walks over to Natalia and dips her head under Natalia's to get a better look. She fake gasps. "You are about to roll over and die. You look awful." She pats Nat's head.
Natalia rolls her red and tired eyes, slightly pushing Mary out of her face. "I'm fine, just tired." She pants.
All of us freeze when we hear a god awful shriek come from outside the backstage door. "Who knew boys could sound like flustered girls." Natalia chuckles to herself.
"So..." Giselle trails off. "It's almost time!" She reminds us, pushing her legs off my lap. She claps her hands together, reminding me of an anime character. Yes I love anime, don't judge.
A slim waisted lady comes in to tell us we have about a minute before the meet and greet. We nod at her as she disappears. We all stop what we're doing and get up from our spots.
"Should we bring some souvenirs with us?" Natalia asks, walking over to a bin full of things.
"We can give some stuff out for free." She shrugs. "That was always something I wish would've happened when I went to concerts." She rambles on, then stops once she realizes we only have a minute. "Sorry forgot about time." She blushes, taking the bin in her arms and joining us by the door.
The same lady, from not even a minute ago, comes to lead us to the fans that are gathered around in groups. I smile to myself, thinking how all these people are here to meet people like us, who would've thought.
