"Warm winds on a space ride,
when I call your phone on a late night,
I recall your soul had a taste like...
gardens, flowers, warm winds."

It was the summer rounding into freshman year that Harry moved across the street from Leigh-Anne.

His mother received a job promotion, that just so happened to relocate them to the hustle and bustle of central London.

It was a bit of a change from where they previously resided but they knew how to adjust quickly.

Leigh-Anne's mother made these legendary cookies, as a "welcome" to new neighbors.

So per her mother's request, Leigh approached the dark wooden door with a sugar-filled container as her mother looked on from the front porch.

She knocked in a rhythmic pattern, a "boom, boom, boom", with a quick pause followed by two faster booms. She backed up behind the welcome mat as her mom had told (and scolded) her about and waited patiently.

Harry's mom was knee-deep in bubble wrap and boxes, so she begged her son to answer the door.

This was the first time Harry saw Leigh-Anne.

The first thing Harry noticed was her smile, it was bright and inviting and yes, her teeth were crooked so her pearly whites were adorned with metal but he thought her smile was beautiful anyway. She had braids pulled up into a high scrunchie, and golden brown skin with almond eyes. He smiled with a shy "hello."

This was also the first time Leigh-Anne saw Harry.

He was all fluffy hair and glasses and dimples and WOW he had some deep dimples and ok, maybe his pants were a tad baggy but he was smiling at her, a complete stranger, for a good 30 seconds before finally saying something and well that made Leigh's stomach feel a bit different and like some butterflies had decided to make a home inside her.

"My mum wanted me to deliver some homemade cookies to welcome your family to the neighborhood." Leigh spoke, eyes attached to Harry's.

Leigh-Anne might not have been the most confident person, but she would never shy away from looking into someone's eyes.

And Harry was close to screaming internally because this block had a pretty girl who gave him homemade cookies that he honestly hadn't even noticed in the first place because she was in his presence.

"Oh wow, thanks, they look delicious!"

She noticed his voice was deeper than expected, and he talked in a slower manner. As they exchanged the container, their hands brushed and Leigh-Anne thanked the gods above he wouldn't be able to notice her blushing.

"It's no problem, really."

"I'm Harry, by the way. Harry Styles."

"Leigh-Anne Pinnock"

Harry smiled because he could finally place a name to her face.

"So you live right across the way?" Harry nodded towards the porch her mom was previously on.

"Yep, if you guys need any help locating anything- don't hesitate to ask."

"Thanks again, Leigh-Anne." Harry tested her name on his tongue and decided he could totally get used to saying it more often.

"I gotta get going, but see you soon?" Leigh was backing away from the porch."

"Oh yeah, definitely." Harry smiled again at her as she waved once and walked down the steps leading to the street.

Harry was still smiling as he walked back inside whispering another "definitely soon."

And in no time, Leigh-Anne recalled his eyes and she had goosebumps while smiling widely in her bedroom, which just so happened to be across the street from his.

And well the rest is history.

Haha

As if.
