"Who confuses you, Adelia?"
How did he hear my thoughts? Do I really speak my thoughts out?
"Adeliaaaaaaa! I think I have asked you something?"
"Umm yeah....Niall! Niall confuses me. He doesn't make me understand Maths properly."
"You don't understand Maths?" He asked inquisitively.
"No I don't." I lied.
"Perhaps I can help you."
"YOU?"
"Yeah. Well I may not be so stupid as you have been told." He smirked.
Shit. This guy certainly possesses some psychotic powers.
"How do you know?"
"Misinterpreted since ages dear." He said giving me a genuine smile.
"Okay then. Thanks." I smiled back.
"But I want something in return."
"What?"
"Your friendship. Friends?"
Yes. Of course yes. He is so sweet.
"Sorry Aaron but I don't know you much." I said in a teasing manner.
"That's quite obvious because we don't talk much and that is because we are not friends. Therefore, I want you to be my friend so that you realize how cool I am." He laughed.
"You really think you're too cool, don't you?'
"No dear. I know that." he smirked.
"Well then we can't be friends because I am not so 'COOL' as you are plus I dislike your attitude."
With that,I stormed towards the library. To my utter surprise, Aaron didn't follow me. I was a bit disappointed although I didn't know the reason behind it. Or maybe I knew. I just wanted to avoid it. I decided to skip my English class and instead, read some book in the library. I loved reading books. Apart from painting, I often spent my leisure time reading books. I started looking for a good book to read from those kept inside the bookcases. There I found my favourite book 'Cosmos'. I opened it instantly and started reading it while walking towards the desk.
"Watch out!"
A masculine voice startled me and broke silent atmosphere in the library. I looked up only to realize that I was about to collide with a bookshelf in seconds. I gave the librarian apologizing looks but she didn't respond to it.
"Be careful while walking. You don't seem like a zombie though."
"Hahaha no actually I was just too excited. Cosmos is my favourite book."
"Are you really a girl?"
"Excuse me??!"
"Lol no I am just joking. I thought girls were more into Nicholas Sparks' novels."
"What can I say, I am different." I smiled
"Seems so. By the way, I am Benjamin. But you can call me Ben."
"I am Adelia."
"Nice name Adelia. I have never seen you before in Stuy."
"Neither me. I am a freshman and you?"
"Oh! I am a sophomore. Can I join you if you don't mind?"
"Yeah sure."
"Thanks. So tell me something about you?"
"Like what?"
"What are your hobbies?"
"I love reading and painting. Besides that, I sing too. What about you?"
"Wow same here! But I don't sing. I mean I can, if you want to vacate the room."
"Hahahaha you are funny."
"Ssssh. Don't forget we are inside a library."
"The librarian seems to be least bothered."
"She is one of the weirdest creatures I have ever seen."
Suddenly, the bell rang. I looked at my watch.
"Ben I got to go now. I am getting late for my class. It was nice meeting you." I gave him a smile.
"Same here. See you soon."
"Bye."
And then I left the library. I entered my class and took seat on the first bench.
"Hi Lia!"
Saying this, he sat beside me.
Aaron. Not again.
"What did you just call me? And you should have at least taken my permission before sitting beside me."
"Why should I take your permission? You are neither my mother nor my teacher. Plus we all have the right to sit wherever we want. Am I right or am I right, Lia?"
"Whatever. Just stop calling me by that name."
"Why? Isn't it a cute nickname?"
"Nicknames are given to us by our friends and not strangers."
"We are friends, Lia."
"I think I have already cleared that out Aaron."
"You said we CAN'T be friends. Not that you WON'T be my friend. And if you really wanted us to be strangers then you probably wouldn't have known my name without asking me for it."
"What do you mean??"
"You know what I mean, Lia."
"You freaking spy!!!!" I yelled at the top of my voice.
"SPY????"
"Yes!! I'll kill you!!"
"Girl, you have lost it!!" He started laughing his head off.
"Excuse me both of you. I have been watching you since I entered the classroom. Just get out of the class if you don't want me to suspend you."
Aaron and I were confused. We looked at each other with the same questioning look in our eyes.
When did she enter the class???
"Don't you understand? I said GET OUT!"
We took our belongings and quickly left the classroom before she could strike a 'thunderbolt' at us. We came out of the class and looked at each other. And then, we both burst into a fit of laughter. Honestly I had never been thrown out of the class like this and it should have seriously made me angry. But somehow, it didn't. And in fact, I enjoyed it. Maybe because my accomplice was Aaron. Although it was just because of him that I had been thrown out of the class.
"You know what Aaron, you are mad!" I said in between my unending fits of laughter.
"Not more than you. You stole the show crazy girl."
"Aaron?"
"Hmm?"
"Friends?"
He grinned. "Friends."
"So what should we do now?"
"For the time being, let us head towards the canteen. I am really hungry."
"Okay. Let's go, Lia."
And this time, I didn't stop him.....................
