"Bruh yuh see the video wid Amoy?" I heard Kilo once I jumped out of the Ford Ranger.
I watched it. I watched it over and over, and I had nothing to say. I slammed the door shut and walked towards the side, my brows knitted.
"Look like the dawg nuh inna the mood fi talk. Just lowe it," Jabari chimed in. At least he could read the room.

Kilo spoke again.
"If yuh need anything, link mi, yuh zimi?" I kept my eyes on folding the blankets. I folded them neatly. A bit too neat, I was too focused. If only I paid this much attention in school.
"Yuh just a guh pack up back the setup?" Kilo's brow furrowed.
I could understand their disappointment. They helped me wash off the pickup, lay out the blankets... Gabby even helped set up the snacks. So yeah, watching me pack everything back up? Definitely pissed them off.
"Morewhile me nuh like deal wid deh youth yah enuh," Kilo was ready to argue. "Eh man nuh respect nobody. Yuh know mi nuh run time joke enuh."
Jabari felt the tension and tried to quell it.
"Just fawud, bruh... we can deal wid this later. Just make bruh handle him shit," Jabari told him. Then they both got in their cars and drove off.
I picked up the blanket, checked my watch, and drove back home. I overtook the two Bimmas, and before the song even ended, I was already climbing the hills of Rose Heights.
