In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, the Jiangs make a strategic move to secure a marriage alliance between a late bloomer, Jiang Ying, and the crown prince, Lan Xichen. However, their plans are disrupted when Jiang Ying is abducted before the mee...
Something has been bothering Jiang Cheng since morning that he can't quite put his finger on. Mindlessly, he sits on the bed and thinks about his twin brother, who hasn't been found yet. He slams his fist against the mattress in frustration, feeling the weight of worry and guilt pressing down on him. His eyes roam around, and he notices a crumpled piece of paper on the floor.
Curious, he picks up the paper and smooths it out, revealing a handwritten note. His heart quickens as he reads the words scrawled in messy handwriting.
"A thief stole the late bloomer." - ?
He reads aloud, feeling a chill run down his spine. Who could be writing this? Why does it feel connected to his twin brother? Turning the paper over, he searches for any clue to its origin or meaning. A sense of urgency grips him as he realizes he must unravel this mystery before it's too late. With determination, he heads to the kitchen, scanning the room for any signs of his sister, but she is nowhere to be found.
Feeling a pang of worry in his chest, he checks her room, but it is also vacant. He calls out her name and walks around the courtyard until he hears a faint sound coming from the garden. Racing there, he sees her sitting on the swing, a look of sadness in her eyes. "Sister," he calls as he grabs her by the arm, leading her to Jiang Ying's room.
"A-Cheng, what's wrong? What happened?" Jiang Yanli asks, her heart thumping in her chest.
Not answering, Jiang Cheng ushers her into the room and closes the door behind them. Nie Huaisang sits on the bed, his usually carefree expression now clouded with concern. "What is going on, A-Cheng?" Jiang Yanli asks again, her voice filled with trepidation.
Before Jiang Cheng can speak, he hears footsteps approaching. Fearing discovery, Nie Huaisang pulls the veil down over his face and stands up, fidgeting with his fingers. The door opens, and Jiang Fengmian enters the room, his expression serious.
Jiang Yanli's heart sinks at the sight, unsure of what troubles her father. She looks to Jiang Cheng for answers, but he remains silent, his jaw clenched in frustration. Nie Huaisang shifts uncomfortably, feeling the tension in the air and wondering if he should make a quick escape.
Jiang Fengmian's gaze lands on Nie Huaisang, his eyes darting with curiosity. "A-Sang, take off your veil," he says sharply.
"Father," Jiang Cheng tries to interrupt, but a look from Jiang Fengmian silences him.
Nie Huaisang hesitates, feeling the weight of Jiang Fengmian's gaze on him. Slowly, he reaches up to remove his veil, revealing his face to the room. Jiang Fengmian studies him for a moment, his expression unreadable.

"Father," Jiang Yanli interrupts, placing a hand on Jiang Fengmian's arm. "A-Ying has been kidnapped."
