(Name) and her boyfriend of 2 years, Akashi Seijuro, had done it all. Except the cliche beach trip.

(Name) had mentioned this to Akashi casually over breakfast one morning, explaining her childhood tradition of going to the beach once a year. University had taken up so much of her time, she hadn't even considered going to the beach until now.

Within a day, her incredible boyfriend had arranged a trip to the section of beach his company owned, leaving (Name) speechless when her ears were graced with the news. She couldn't stop grinning for the longest time when he revealed his plans to her.

~ at the beach ~

(Name) stepped out of Akashi's red convertible and laughed at the sight before her. The ocean... It had been so long since she had frozen trying to boogie board in the mediocre waves of the beach of her childhood.

Truly Akashi owned only the best. The water was clear as glass and not too cold. There was a large cabin not too far from the water, and a pool and hot tub right behind it.

(Name) was almost embarrassed. She didn't come from money, nor was she in any need growing up, but this was the upper upper class. She was always grateful when Akashi brought her somewhere, but she felt a little too spoiled.

She walked over to him an developed him in a hug.

"It's beautiful, Seijuro. Thank you for bringing me here."

Akashi simply kissed her forehead in response.

(Name) turned her head to look at the water again.

"I had no idea Japan had beaches like this... Should we get unpacked?"

Akashi smirked at her.

"The butler will do it. Why don't we put our feet in the water?"

A light blush adorned (Name)'s cheeks, he never failed to make her into a stuttering mess, no matter how long they had been together. She hummed an affirmative response and laced her fingers with his, walking down to the water with a spring in her step.

The water was a perfect temperature, a huge contrast to the sixty degree water she usually swam in. Additionally, the undertow was essentially perfect, and almost tickled.

Akashi chuckled upon seeing (Name)'s jovial expression.

"Why does the beach captivate you, so?"

(Name) turned to stare into the intense gaze of her boyfriend.

"Haven't I told you?"

"I don't believe so."

(Name) smiled softly.

"When I was younger, my parents would always take my family to this one beach. The hotels were cruddy, and the water was freezing, but it was a tradition I grew attached to. I spent a lot of time looking at the ocean as a kid. I guess I just learned to love it."

Akashi squeezed her hand gently as the water passed over their feet again.

"Interesting."

(Name) stared at him for a second and then went back to watching the ocean.

"You only make that face when you're planning something."

Akashi laughed.

"Incredible how you can read me, huh? I was just making plans for the next few days, don't worry. I was listening to your fascinating history."
