I'm over these damn tests. I lean back in the chair, checking the wall clock for the umpteenth time. 15 more minutes. I had finished 10 minutes ago and unfortunately couldn't take a nap. I bounce the pencil against the table. Tap tap tap! This is my third test this week. I stare at the computer screen, trying to ignore the sinking feeling in my stomach. What the hell is going on today? Something is gonna go wrong. Please. Please God. I close my eyes. Don't be my dad. Please. I don't need that drama. Not today.

"You now have five minutes left class. You should be getting done soon." I glance to the left of me. Queen is about four seats down, with her head on her arms, her hair splayed out. I know Bing and Kay are elsewhere in the room. I wonder if they feel it too? I'm sure Kay does.

I suddenly feel a pulse of energy, and I suck in a sharp breath. Dammit Kay! You can't give off a warning? I relax and close my eyes, tapping onto her energy pulses. I feel the hair on my arms and back of the neck stand up and goosebumps appear up and down my arm. I take a deep breath, and focus on the strong energy pulsating from the shorter girl and around the lab and outwards across the campus. Damn. I was right about her. She's got a lot more power than she thinks.

On the 6th pulse, it hits something. Holy bejesus. I suck in a sharp silent breath and shift in my seat. That. That is powerful. Like.... like the reapers when I call them forth.

I feel the pulses shake, but they don't fully stop. I look up and to my right, finding Kay about six seats away, and Bing about four. I can see from Kay's ruffled appearance that she's had the same thought I had. Demon. Ugh. I hate our sixth sense sometimes.
