The next day

Jewel is at Alaina's house evaluating Antonio.

Jewel: So young man, why are you interested in my daughter?

Antonio: Well sir, Alaina is supportive of my career. She cheers me on when I win, and comforts me when I loose. She doesn't  complain about me traveling a lot and most importantly, she's an amazing person.

Jewel: You seem like a cool dude, so we're good.  But don't make me have to bust you up Tone.

Antonio laughed at how protective Jewel was of her friend. Jewel and Alaina have always looked out for each other and had each backs. They reminded Tone of him and Ben.

Antonio: You're pretty cool too JD. You know you're my new best friend right?

Alaina: Ooo I'm telling Ben.

Antonio: Speaking of Ben, we need to hook him and JD up Nana bear.

Jewel: Nana bear? Really Tone?

Antonio: Don't judge. When Ben gives you a silly pet name, I won't judge you.

Jewel: Ben and I aren't gonna be together. I told Nana that yesterday and besides, he doesn't like me.

Antonio: I'm not supposed to tell you this, but he told me he likes you. He tried to send you signals and drop hints, but you weren't getting them.

Jewel chuckled and shook her head.

Jewel: That's his fault honestly. I don't read minds, and I'm not gonna try. If Ben likes me, he needs to tell me straight like that.

Alaina: Whatever JD. For real though, y'all are gonna be together. I've got this feeling I can't turn it loose.

Jewel: That somebody else is getting next to you.

Alaina: Can't walk around like I was your fool.

Jewel: Cause being who I am, I can't loose my cool.

Antonio: Y'all sound pretty good, but y'all would sound better with me in the group.

Jewel: We can set up an audition.

Alaina: Y'all are too much, but back to Ben and Jewel.

Jewel: There's nothing else to talk about.

Alaina: Yes there is.

Jewel: What?

Alaina: Do you like him?

Jewel: Could be, could not be.

Antonio: You sound like Miss Celie from The Color Purple.

The trio laughed and talked until Jewel had to leave. While in the car she thought about what Alaina had asked her. The answer was no. At least that's what she kept telling herself.
