Chapter 8

Matthew ran across town looking for a place to stay. He found the old abandoned police station on 6th street. "This will have to do" said Matthew. Matthew wanted to get rid of his deformity so he began to study science in using the sciences department in the police station. He also began to study law enforcement. The police station was abandoned with everything left behind. In the building were old police records, files, uniforms, computers, everything. "I guess everything is outdated here" Matthew said. Matthew found himself a home but he had to search for food and water to survive. He also needed money to conduct his research. He looked for things around town that would help him. Most of the places around him were abandoned. Since the old town started to collapse in 1985 the new town was moved farther away. He had the place to himself. But there were also gangs and scavengers in the area. One night Matthew was scavenging for food and materials. To keep himself hidden he wore a long trench coat and a fedora. But what Matthew did not know was that he was in a gang's territory. "Hey you! What the fuck are you doing here!" said a gang member "I'm just trying to get some supplies and I'll leave" Matthew said with a deep penetrating voice "No you going to pay for coming in our territory, come on guys let's get him" the gang members walked towards Matthew with guns in their hands. "Stay away from me!" Matthew growled trying to run. As it started to rain, the gang members run after him shooting with their guns. After so many bullets hitting him Matthew fell to the wet street. "get him on his knees!"

The men grabbed Matthew and got him kneeling on his knees. The rain poured on Matthew's skin and the men also. Matthew's fedora was dripping from the rain that soaked it. The water dropped over his face from the rim of his hat. "I'll teach you not to come in our territory again bitch!" The leader punched Matthew in the face making him bleed. The men laughed as Matthew was beaten. Lighting struck and the lights blacked and went out. Suddenly there was screams, the leader felt himself grabbed by the neck and forced to the ground. Lighting flashed and the leader saw Matthew in front of him. The lighting flashed again lighting Matthews face. The leader was staring at monster of 17ft with angry black eyes and rows of serrated teeth. Blood dripped from the monsters mouth and he spoke with a deep terrifying voice. "You put fear into the hearts of people by killing and beating them up for money and entertainment" said Matthew staring into the eyes of the gang member. "W-W-what are you?" the man said terrified. Matthew lifted the man off his feet and slammed him into the wall choking him with his massive hands. "I am Sharkman, all those who threaten me will...die! Starting tonight with you!" "Please no noo!!" shouted the gang member terrified. Then silence, Matthew panted heavily blood dripping from his mouth. The lighting flashed again, Matthew dropped the body of the leader and grabbed his materials he found and ran to his home at the station.
