"Sir I already bought the tickets" said Joaquin. I stared directly at the check in guy.
"I am sorry kid, but to travel alone you need permission from a responsible adult" the man said.
"Sir I am not a kid, you are looking at the responsible adult here" I looked from the man to Joaquin. Fury was starting to form in his eyes.
"I am so sorry, SIR, 10 year olds are not considered adults" the man retorted. Oh no. Mr. You don't know who you are messing with. When Joaquin gets angry, he can be like a hungry wild chimp.
"I AM 12 ALMOST 13!" this was Joaquin's last warning. I hid my head behind Samira. She turned her gaze at me and we shared a troubled look.
"Look, kid, I don't have time to discuss age responsibility, there are other ADULTS that are waiting to check- in and if they don't do it fast then, they lose the flight" he forced at us.
"I AM NOT MOVING FROM HERE UNTIL YOU LET US PASS"
"Wild chimp is on his way" I murmured to Samira. She let out an anxious sigh. Joaquin started to yell a bunch of stuff at the man, stuff that were so fast to understand.
"SECURITY!" yelled the man. I started freaking out. My palms started getting sweaty, my heart quickened, and everything became dizzy.
"We have to get out of here" I murmured to Samira in her ear.
"Let's do it before our chance is lost" she murmured back. I started moving back until I could only see Joaquin being carried like a sack of potatoes by the chubby security guy. Then I saw Renato running like crazy and bumping into the next security guard. I saw Maria being cornered by ANOTHER security guard. I saw Samira hiding between the staring and gaping crowd, and thought how lucky I was of not being- something hard, I bumped into... I looked up.
"Heeey" I squeaked as I saw the grumpy security man, "Can't we just- talk about it?" I continued soft, friendly punching his belly. Then he straightened up, "Nope, ok I'll follow the others" I finished as he nodded.
"This is all YOUR fault Joaquin!" exclaimed Maria sitting from the corner.
"MY FAULT!?" exclaimed Joaquin back, standing up from his seat.
"YOU LET THE WILD CHIMP OUT OF THE CAGE!"
"I BET YOU HAVE AN ANGRY ANIMAL IN YOU TOO"
"I told you everyone thought he was a wild chimp" I murmured to Samira.
"Everyone, everyone" she replied.
"REALLY LIKE WHAT??" continued Maria
"LIKE! LIKE!" he hesitated, "LIKE AN ORANGUTAN THAT IS AS SMART AS HELL!" he yelled.
"You think I am smart?" asked Maria.
"EVERYONE knows that" he grunted and sat down.
I couldn't just shut up. 2 of my best friends where fighting (at least after Maria looked flattered), "Guys" I started standing up. Oh, I forgot to mention the cell... yeah we are in a cell. It is white, with metal bars, cold, broken seats... yeah, I guess I don't have much to mention, "Let's mot fight... we are not ARRESTED!"
"If our parents don't PAY then THEY get arrested" put in Renato. He was sitting with his legs extended and a fresh normal look.
"Yeah, Isa, you must admit that is pretty bad" admitted Samira. I couldn't say anything. Our parents would come, then we have the school problem, and oh no.
"WHERE IS MY BABY!" a woman yelled.
"And that's my mom" sighed Samira.
"We must do something! I am not getting expelled from school again" put in Joaquin. I thought, and thought hard.
