"I'm gonna miss you bed!" Katerina exclaimed as she jumped onto the bed, arms spread wide, hugging the pink and white comforters.

"Com'n Kat!" Her mother shouted from the front door. Kat trudged out of her bedroom and quickly grabbed her fat cat and hugged her. Tears welled in her eyes as the cream colored cat, Kitty, licked her nose as if he knew they would be separated for nine days.

Kat and her family were taking a road trip up to Montana. She lived in Moore, Oklahoma and their first stop was Red River, New Mexico. Then they were going to make their way to Denver, Colorado and then to Hungry Horse, Montana, only thirty minutes from Canada. So, they were practically going to be going from border to border in nine days.

Kat put Kitty back down on the gray, spill-stained, concrete coffee table. Her dad was in the concrete business, he had his own company. She liked to think of her family as the Flintstones, everything was concrete, the tables, the floors, the counter tops, the patio, the stairs, everything.

"I love you, Kitty!" Kat said while walking out the door. Her medium length, brown, fried hair, from over use of her flat iron, bounced around her shoulders, tickling her neck as she bounded toward the mini van that they had rented specially for the trip.

Kat knew she was going to miss her cat and her bed so much, but she also knew that this was going to be a great trip.
