Layla
I look out the window and sigh at the emptiness in the sky. Every time I close my eyes it takes me back to that miserable night. It has been a month since Tariq and I were locked in the lecture room, it has been one painful month. The cleaner did end up coming to clean the lecture room, and ended up finding us two. Tariq drove me back home, despite how much I told him not to, he even came to explain the event to my dad personally, but what was my dad supposed to believe? Before we even managed to get home, Rebecca had told my dad that I had gone on a date with Tariq. Who was he supposed to believe? His daughter who came home at midnight due to the many other things Rebecca had done to prevent her from coming home at all, or the stranger that his daughter had came with? As much as I try to hold it back, my tears begin to flow down again.
"Layla please don't do this to yourself, please." My mother whispers in the passenger seat next to me. I push the tears back and begin to look at the clouds again.
Tariq
"Do not lie to me Faeza! You know about it so please just tell me what have they done to her?" My voice weakens.
It has been one month since that miserable night, she was scared to her death. I reassured her, everything would be fine. Attempted to explain everything to her family, but nothing went right, Rebecca had really thought this through.
" Brother your wounds have just been healed for gods sake!" Faeza yells.
Emir had lost control the minute I tried to explain everything to Layla's family and an unexpected fight had occurred. My wounds didn't matter, but what they must have done to Layla did.
"TELL ME!" I lose my control.
Faeza's eyes widen and she sits carefully next to me.
"They have left."
"What do you mean?"
" They have gone to Afghanistan for a while," she looks down.
" They are getting her married," Faeza begins to cry.
"NO!"
"Yes! They left this morning and YOU KNOW WHAT, SHE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW!" Faeza completely breaks down.
My heart froze.
