Layla

"What are you doing here?"

A smile forms on his face.

"I could be asking you the same question, but I won't."

He was right, I didn't tell anyone I was coming here, and I don't even know the way back. A sigh was all I could give back as a response.

"I don't think I have introduced my self properly yet."

I don't care

"Lets sit down and properly introduce ourselves."

Honestly I just gave in because I had no strength or energy to refuse and argue.

"Hi, Im Fawad Ahmadi and I have recently moved here from France and I have also just finished studying biochemistry."

France?

"Why did you decide to move here, when you were living happily in France?"

"Did I say I was living happily in France?" he said amused.

"No," I reply.

"But then why did you move?"

Why was I having a conversation with him?

"My older brother died in a bomb attack last year, my parents couldn't bear his loss, so I came to support them," his eyes freeze at the water running past us.

Bomb attack , innocent lives

There was silence, I somehow never have been good at these things and I somehow always end up saying something that makes the person feel worse. So I decided not to say anything, as this was just really sad.

" So.... your turn," he looks at my way.

"I'm Layla Azimi, living in Calgary Canada, It's my third year studying medicine," I say bluntly.

I raise my gaze to see him staring at me, actually examining me.

"What?"

"Is there something bothering you? Or upsetting you?" he asks.

That felt like the last straw, I was going to burst crying again, but I had to hold it in, not cry in front of him at least!

Seeing the change in my facial expressions, he must have realised I do not want to talk about it.

"Ok don't tell me about it, that fine."

"You know what lets make things easier, lets be friends," he takes his hand out.

"Im not allowed to be friends with random guys," I blurt.

"Well, considering that you guys staying in this 'random guy's' house and know my parents really well, I do not think it would be that bad."

He had a point, if my parents did not trust him, then we would not be staying over at his house. I just nod in approval.

"Should we go home?" I say realising how hungry and tired I had become.

Tariq

"Brother how much longer is there to go," I ask impatiently.

"About 20 minutes," the driver replies.

Everything is planned out, I will meet Layla, tell her everything and by everything I mean everything and own up to her father. I know this is pretty much impossible but im not here to fight, I will win her over by peace, I will not let history repeat itself.

No, history will not repeat itself.
