"Would you like some coffee?" Hanji asked, "and some biscuits? Or cake and- oh I make the best cheese toasties! Would you like to-"

"Hanji shut up."

I turned around and saw Levi standing in the doorway. He had latex gloves on, a white face mask covering his mouth and nose, a pink frilly apron and was holding a feather duster. He looked ridiculously hot and I had to hold in a laugh.

"I see you've met Hanji." Levi pointed out. His expression was still the same.

"Oh Levi! Tell this kid how great my cheese toasties are!" Hanji squealed. I thought she was going to jump out and hug Levi but he held his hand out and put it on her shoulder to stop her, pretty much like he did to me earlier on.

I don't know if it's obvious yet but Hanji pretty much explained her whole life story to me in one long sentence when we met. She also asked about the bruises on my face that were forming pretty badly. Of course, I couldn't tell her it was Levi so I shrugged it off saying I got in a fight with someone from 'college'. For me it was unbelievable but Hanji believed it, she said its "pretty normal for someone that age."

"Actually er... This kid is just leaving."

"I am?" I questioned.

"He is?" Hanji also questioned.

"Yes." Levi said.

"Oh yea- uh yeah. I am." I said. I looked back towards Levi and then at Hanji before slowly making my way to the door.

"Hey wha- w- wait!" Hanji called back to me. I stopped and looked back around to see her turn back to face Levi. "Why don't you offer this kid a lift home?"

"Firstly I can't drive and I'm sure he-"

"No I'm fine." I said shakily. Levi looked pissed that I interrupted him but then again, I couldn't really tell how he felt because his expression stayed emotionless.

I didn't get a reply from neither Levi nor Hanji so I reached for the door again. I opened it and stepped outside and was about to shut it behind me but Hanji held it open.

"Are you sure? I mean um... I could walk with you?" Hanji said. She look actually worried even though she's just met me. "Or you could get a lift... Or you could even stay here for the night?"

"Hanji, no. His parents are probably worried for him."

Pft, parents.

"Bu-" Levi grabbed Hanji from behind and dragged her inside.

"Eren, go home. You can keep the clothes." Levi pointed down the road that was ahead of me and I nodded. I then slowly started making my way down the road to whatever park bench I want to call 'home'.

"Oh. Eren? Is that your name?! It's so-" Hanji started but was cut off by the sound of a door slamming.

I walked down the streets and eventually found a small alleyway. I suppose I could sleep against the wall tonight, hidden away so I'm not in the way of anyone.

I couldn't stop thinking about why Levi, being so cold, was nice to me. He didn't seem like the guy to share but he gave me $10 which I now had shoved into the back pocket of his jeans.

I wanted to go back and give him his clothes back so I could have mine but I forgot my way back. I don't know how far I walked to get here but I'm tired, it must be at least midnight by now. I sat down and hugged my knees to my chest to keep me warm. Although I'm usually fine without, I could really do with a blanket right now as it's a fairly cold night. I let out a sigh and checked I still had the $10 before deciding to get a few hours sleep.

~

It must've been around 2am when I was woken.

It was her.

Her face vanished as I took in my surroundings, still in the alleyway. I realized it was a dream... No, a nightmare. The same nightmare I've been having for just over three years. I felt myself panicking as memories flooded my head. Their faces, the horror, the disgust, the betrayal.

It's moments like this when I feel like I should just end it. I don't want to be alone anymore. I don't want to be here. But what if my life could turn around? Where would I go? Even then, I'd still have no family, no place to call home....

Maybe I'll wait... How long, a week? Two weeks?
