The sun burns through the gravel road, the rocks are loose and weak. It's far too hot for the time of year.

My friends and I are walking back from school. The lot of us taking up half of my street.

Occasionally a driver will flip us off, or call something out the window along the lines up "move over you inconsiderate fools!"

Wonwoo looks miserable in the sweatshirt he decided to wear today. Minghao is asleep, as he always seems to be.

He and Jun seem close. Close in the way I thought I was with Nailen. Only this might be true love.

The looks they give each other, the simple gestures.

Hell, if Minghao asked any of us to carry him while he slept on their back, he'd be happily denied.

Jun doesn't hesitate to oblige. He's never once turned down the offer.

Now that's a worthy relationship.

"We should do something today," Mingyu suggests, fanning Wonwoo with his ringed notebook.

"We do something everyday," Dino complains, trudging through the grass due to the lack of usable street. "I love you guys but I'm mad tired, and it's eighty degrees."

"It's seventy six de-"

"Oh, shut it Jun!"

"No, Mingyu's right, we should do something. There's a football game today, we can go find an open field and play soccer or something. Minghao and Jihoon can play baseball maybe," Seokmin shrugs, his speech slurred from the flaming sun.

"Perhaps we should stop at my house for t-shirts," Joshua laughs, shaking his head at their sluggish pace.

"I'm sorry, I was told it was only going to be fifty degrees," Jun's 'sorry' was too sarcastic to miss.

"My bad, I guess my calendar was wrong," Vernon says sheepishly.

"Calendars don't tell you the weather," Seungkwan mutters, glancing up from his phone. His side eye glances are always so contagious.

"They don't?"

"Maybe Vernon should stay home from this trip, the heat is making him delirious."

"He's just stupid, nothing new," Minghao grumbled, leaning his head against Jun's other shoulder.

"Aren't you in a pleasant mood," Mingyu says cheerily.

"Suck my dick you filthy hag!"

Damn.

I snicker from my place in the middle of the blob, though I have to turn my head every which way to keep up with the conversation.

"You know it's a good joke when Woozi laughs," S-Coups cackles.

'I laugh all the time.'

"I know, you just don't seem the type of person who would laugh as often as you do."

"Hey, you're getting really good at reading lips!" Jeonghan points out.

'I've always been good at it, I just need to learn the way certain people talk first. For instance, Joshua says 'like' a lot, Soonyoung talks very quickly, Mingyu has a lisp, and Vernon doesn't talk much so I miss what he says.'

"I do not say 'like'" Joshua interjects, seeming very hurt and confused.

"Yes you do"

"Everyday," Dino draws out each letter, which makes it incredibly hard to understand what he says.
