March 14
“Rise and shine!” Seunkwan shouts, jumping from the large, C shaped couch.
“Time for our lovebirds to arise,” My eyes flutter open to Seunkwan’s smirking face, squinting from the sunlight pouring through the windows.
Too tired to deny his assumption, I shake Jihoon lightly, waking him up in a far more polite way.
Some form of realization kicks in when I notice his head on my shoulder and my arm wrapped around his waist in an all too casual way.
When did this happen?
Jihoon looks just as confused as I do when he rubs his eyes.
He sat up straight, I dropped my arms from his torso.
‘Sorry.’
Seunkwan chuckles, heading back upstairs where the rest of our friends must be.
I stand up as well, shaking the remanence of my awakening off of me.
Why was I so close to Jihoon earlier?
The security of his side pressed against mine is unmistakable, I wish I could figure out why.
Or why I wanted to feel it again.
Woozi’s Perspective
My morning comes in clumps, I can’t even remember walking up the stairs into the kitchen but here we are.
Mrs. Hong made muffins. ‘I’m fine.’ I signed when a muffin was offered my way, but I did take a glass of root beer as soon as they were in sight.
Soonyoung seems to be avoiding my gaze, I suppose this morning could have been a little awkward.
It’s not like it was intentional, why is it such a big deal?
Embarrassing? For sure, but not nerve fraying worthy.
“Are you sure you don’t want anything Woozi?” Mrs. Hong asks, skeptical.
‘I’m fine, too early to eat.’
‘It’s ten am,’ Seuncheol’s eyes are sharp, like he knows I’m lying. I wouldn't be surprised if he did, I’m an open book nowadays. ‘A perfectly respectable time to eat if you ask me.’
‘Yeah, well normally I’m awake at twelve on the weekends, I’ll eat then.’
“Will you now?” Soonyoung says allowed, most likely meant for me not to see.
“What do you mean by that Soonyoung?” Jeonghan asks, his head shot up instantly as soon as he caught ear of a conversation more interesting than Dino’s jabber.
Soonyoung glares up at me, my gaze is just as sharp, livid.
He holds my gaze, picking at his muffin as he responds.
“Nothing, It’s just hard to believe that he would.”
I take a swig of rootbeer, pretending not to notice the dozen pairs of eyes that look at me, confused.
My teeth grind violently as I hold back the vile words daring to come out.
They’re searching for confirmation, maybe an explanation of what Soonyoung meant. I’m not giving them the satisfaction of pitying me.
‘I have to go to work.’
‘You work? Where?’ Vernon ponders, reaching for a second pastry.
‘Why don’t you ask Soonyoung? He knows everything doesn’t he?’ I genuinely hope my sarcasm was caught there.
I head down the hall, slipping my shoes on in an instant. I cannot bear to be in the same vicinity as Soonyoung right now.
