I got Jessica's number, and a week after her taster day, she texted me saying she was coming to Kalprine-wyck Prep.

Jess Kaliphorn: I'm joining K-w P!! 💪😋😍😇
                                                                      ME: omg really? When?
Jess Kaliphorn: Next month!
ME: u get a month off school!
Jess Kaliphorn: yeah! I know right?
ME: well I can't wait to see you.
Jess Kaliphorn: me neither!

The next month flew by.
It was a Thursday morning, just as I was packing my bag for school, my phone buzzed. I read the incoming text.

Jess Kaliphorn: see you at school! I join today!

I didn't have time to text back, my mum was calling me to come downstairs. I couldn't wait to see Jessica in school.
Whenever we got to a red light, I literally shouted at it telling it to pee off and give its friends Amber and Emerald some time to shine.
Ruby, she's always stealing the spotlight.
If I told you shouting at traffic lights worked wonders, I would be lying.
The ten minute car ride, seemed like a ten hour hiking voyage, by the end of it. I guess it seemed like hiking because, when it finally ended, I was exhausted. No clue why. Probably shouting at the traffic lights.
That can be hard work, you know?
I raced into school, determined to be early, to see Jessica.
As I hopped into the classroom, I surveyed the room for a sign of her.
Boys,
Kat and Katie,
Miss Galtæ talking to a younger student,
Sadie talking to this girl much taller than her, with chocolate brown hair-
FOOD-FACE!
I sprinted over, halting just behind her. An invisible wave of rose-cented-shampoo wafted over me, like pleasant smoke. I leaned into her soft, chocolate hair, trying to remind myself that it was hair.
Not chocolate.
I whispered through the thick, dark curtains.
"Boo."
Jessica spun round. "Omg! Lyra!" We both squealed with excitement. "I'm so happy I'm finally joining!"
"I'm happy too!" After we finished our greeting and excited chatter, we were dragged off to assembly.
Agh.
It was long and borning like normal. It was the one thing Jess was gonna have to get used to. That, and serious pins and needles after it.
I still don't get why they make us sit on the floor.
Relived, we were finally dismissed to first lessons. Me and Jessica walked together. On our way to collect our stuff we ran into Pheonix.
Okay, let me get this straight, I haven't had he best past experiences with Pheonix. But we're cool now.
"Hey Pheon! This is Jes-" But I was interrupted.
"Jessie!" Pheonix threw herself at Jessica, embracing her into a bone crushing hug.
So these two had already met.
Pheonix finially pulled away, smiling from ear to ear.
"How have you been?" She squeaked, sashaying her jet-black ringlets away from her sun-kissed skin.
Despite our rough past, I had to admit that Pheonix was pretty.
"Oh just great, chummy!"
Chummy?
I have to admit I felt a pang of jealousy as they laughed together, just as we had done in homeroom.
But seriously? She was gonna have other friends, so I shook the childish feeling off and joined in there chitter-chattering.
"See you two have already met, Pheon, do you mind if we walk and talk we really need to go get our stuff, you can come with if you want?" I tried to slip my comment into there conversation.
"Actually, I really need to go too, but I'll see you two around!" Pheonix shouted after us, as she skipped down the hall.
I watched her until she had completely disappeared into the the sea of children barging around in the hallway.
"Phoenix, such a nice name." Jessica sighed, as if she wished that were her name.
I pulled her along the hallway to homeroom, neither of us mentioned Pheonix again for the rest of that day.

Later in the day Kat started handing out invitations to a few of the kids during free period.
When she handed me a pink-cented envelope, I ripped it open and read quickly through the invite.
"Bowling? YES!" I cheered.
"And Zizzies afterward? YES!" Katie did a victory dance.
This was mine and Katie's idea of heaven, bowling, arcade, then pizza. You can't ask for more than that, can you? Okay, if the pizzeria had a chocolate fountain with chocolate covered stawberrys and marshmallows, that would be heaven.
But still.
All the girls were invited, but no boys. Kat's mum was very picky about that.
Everyone got really excited, and no one could stop talking about it.
It seemed all the girls were being dropped off at the party in pairs, I was going to ask Jessica if she would like to come with me to the party. So I toddled up to her first break, I waited until Pheonix was finished her sentence.
"So my house, around nine, then my mum can drive us to the bowlplex! Then your mum can pick us up from Zizzies." Pheonix ranted on excitedly.
Oh.
Jessica and Pheonix, were going to Kat's party, together.
Okay, you know that was fine. No prob, I'll find someone else.
I hope.
I walked away, hoping neither of them would notice me.
It was like Pheonix and Deila all over again!
Delia was my bestest ever friend of all time! We had known each other since birth, and we were best friends. We were inseparable. Then Pheonix came along and well, long story short it was like world war three. It was so bad, not kidding, that Deila left the school. That is the bad experiences I had with Pheonix. She stole my best friend, and she was attempting to do it again. I couldn't take it, It reminded me so much of how much I missed, Delia.
Over the next few days, I didn't really hang out with Jessica, she was so busy with Pheonix, so I left them to it, I didn't want to say the wrong thing and upset anyone. Besides Pheonix had been so distant ever since Delia left so I was glad she was finally coming out of her shell.
I knew I wasn't jealous, I just didn't want Pheonix doing the same thing to Jessica as she did to Delia.
Bad mouthing.
Back stabbing.
But I convinced myself that Pheonix was over that and, she had changed for the better.
