CRASH
I thought my sister was up.
I thought she fell.
I was afraid that she got hurt.
My mother and I sprung to action.
We quickly realized nobody was hurt.
The things in the bathroom fell.(shampoos and soap)
My mother asked "Why did everything fell?"
I shrugged and said "Probably the wind."
We went back to sleep.
My sister just woke up.
After I truly woke up and had breakfast.
I realized that we were hit by an earthquake.
It was 2.5.
We weren't close to the start of the earthquake.
If things didn't fell I probably wouldn't have noticed the earthquake.
After my realization I told my mom about the earthquake.
She was just surprised.
I also noticed when I looked up today's earthquake that we had one last month.
I am grateful that no one got hurt but, it is slightly unnerving to not notice an earthquake.
It wasn't on the news.
It wasn't even the only earthquake that hit Ca this day.
So, many weak earthquake hit everyday that many won't even notice.
No one gets harmed.
No damage happens.
It is as if these quakes didn't happen.
The was a time I was new to Ca and somewhat noticed these quakes.
That was awhile back.
The focus of the news was the fires(often and more deadly then the quacks) also, the draught.
---------
A year or so a family member(not in Ca) called in panic to check that we are ok.
He called because, he read that an earthquake hit our town that day.
It was on the news because, merchandise in a store fell out of their shelves.
It was less "oh, no somebody is hurt" and more of "what a funny gag."
