[ found on an old photograph ]

i asked my grandmother what her
perspective on beauty was and she
just looked at me with a puzzled
look and laughed. she told me that
it's a concept humans created to
contrast things that they believe
aren't beautiful. then i asked her
why can't they believe that it's
beautiful. my grandmother sighed.
i don't know honey. maybe it's
because they're too blind to see
that every sole being on this earth
has beauty and goodness inside of
them even if it's just a speck of it.
but i also believe that one day
people will see the true essence
of people's personalities and
judge them on that and not
based on their appearances.
everyone is different and that's
truly a gift because who would
want to be perfect. being perfect
doesn't give you the satisfaction
you desire. truly loving yourself,
being who you are and recognizing
the beauty inside of everyone will
you truly live and love the life you
solely deserve.
