MOZAMBIQUE LOVE AFFAIR
Grace Jerold was a young black South African woman and happily going out with James Hanta a robust young black South African man. It didn't take long before they were to get married, having already introduced each other to their respective families wedding planning commenced immediately. Their love was strong and it is thought that nothing can separate them but James had another plan. He bid farewell to his fiancée on a promise of his return from Mozambique where he was to go and find work in order to help them in starting their new life together. Having stayed and worked in Mozambique a riot occurred in which hundreds of people died. James body was found and having being identified by his family the body was sent back to South Africa to the grief stricken families and buried. A year or so passed and a wedding was to be held, Grace has gotten proposed by a white man who had fallen in love with her. Accepting his proposal meant putting the past behind and starting a life with this man who loves her and overtime her feelings for him grew but not similar, but she was able to say I love you back. Married for almost a year with no kids and working at the immigration offices you could understand her surprise when she came across her former fiancé passport, re-entry into the country. Behind her unsuspecting husband's back she conducts a search for James her lost love she has long thought dead. She found him! Staring fondly at each other with reignited love she asked him what happened? He explained how he barely survived the riot, and having worked he heard of his burial back home so he came back to clear the misunderstanding. Grace provided work for him within the company she worked for herself, and would see him everyday within her locked office where they would be together for hours in private then when evening came she returned to the warm folds of her husband's arms. Their affairs lasted for months, but someone must have noticed because the news of the affair some how reached her husband's ears. Devastated he confronted her on it, she vehemently denied ever having an affair, he begged her to stop it but she stated how can she stop something that is non existent? Of course she knew she was safe from any real proof, no one could have seen what she and James do within her locked office. The Husband wouldn't give up easily, it hurt him, he started to follow her were ever she went and studied her gestures, facial expression until he knew with whom she was having an affair with. Again and again he confronted her, pleading on how much he loved her and begged for the affair to end, and again she denied their ever being an affair. Having gotten enough proof and her refusing to admit he decided to leave it. One day her husband drove her down the country road, stopped at his side of the road and got out. Following his lead she got out too and stood before him, "I have a surprise for you: he said and produced a box. She took it with excitement, "I love you" he whispered again and again, tears streaming down his face and barely able to utter the words.
"I love you too" she lied and proceeded to open the box, "wait" he placed his hand lightly on the box, " I want this to be a surprise" he smile and tried to wipe his tear stained face it was useless because tears continued to fall. Her eyes closed he returned to the car and opened the boot. With trembling hands he retrieved a machete and walked towards her.
"I love you Grace" he whispered, eyed hallow with what was to come.
"I love you too my husband" and before she got a chance to open her eyes, he swung the machete and off with her head, it hit with a thud on the moist grass, here eyes still peacefully closes. He got into the car and drove off, crying furiously as he left the body behind. He went straight to the police station and confessed his crime. He was arrested, trialed and locked up, but within a few years he was out and about a dull ache forever lodged in his heart. James on the on the other hand never found Grace, he eventually married and had 2 boys and a little girl he later named Grace in memory of his lost lover.
